Nosferatu

When they say it smells like Dracula’s casket, they are not joking.

I saw this particular scent advertised around the time it initially launched. I read the description, however, I could not justify spending $150 on a scent that I had never smelled before. I was very pleasantly surprised to find it on ScentBird! It is perfect (for me). My usual, everyday, go-to scent is "Very Sexy" by Victoria's Secret. This scent has a very similar tone to that. It is very deep and earthy, yet, at the same time, slightly sweet and floral with watery notes of ozone, which give it a perfect, crisp, overall freshness. I find it to be more feminine rather than the advertised unisex. If you enjoy sweet, light florals and fruits, this is not the scent for you. The best way I can describe it: Imagine a dried bouquet of eucalyptus, lilac and violet flowers inside of a hollowed out cedar tree in the woods, along the shore of a Frozen lake.

There is something off with the smell and I cannot place my finger on it. It has a synthetic moth ball mens cologne kind of smell.

I've heard so much about this fragrance and just had to try it for myself. Some people absolutely hate it and some can't get enough of it. Upon first spray, it opens with a wet, mossy, slightly floral note. It immediately smells like something that you don't typically find in perfume. It's like the smell of mossy concrete after it rains in the summer. When the rain cools the air, but the concrete is still hot so it creates a strong scent as you walk on the pavement. As it starts to dry down, the moss note calms down and leans more towards what is listed as petrichor. It's not as aggressive as when it's first sprayed on skin. It becomes a bit more familiar, more nostalgic. The iris and violet start to come out and the whole scent becomes more balanced and very slightly sweet. I don't get the ambergris or oud that other websites mention as a note. I smell more of a paper type of note once it's fully dried down. The florals aren't fresh blooms still on the live plant. They're more like flowers that have been in a vase for a few days where some are drying out and some are still in the water and turning brown. It's an interesting mix. It's not a warm cozy scent. It's cold and actually smells kind of melancholic. Which is exactly how a Nosferatu scent should smell. I get a few hours wear out of this fragrance. It's not one that projects like crazy, it's closer to the skin. Which may or may not be a good thing depending on how much you love this scent. I don't know that I want to drench my clothes in it, but it's a scent I keep coming back to just for the interesting experience. I can see myself wearing it more in the spring when it's rainy and grey, but there are little buds of flowers popping up in the grass. It's honestly quite pleasant. But it won't be for everyone. I think if you're willing to experiment with your fragrance and wear something that challenges the conventional idea that all perfume needs to have mass appeal, you'll enjoy Nosferatu.

I’m extremely heart broken the scent is horrible and it makes me smell like a piece of wood
