Heretic Parfum - Coeur Noir

The name of the scent is a homage to its tarry black heart-chord of labdanum, obtained from a species of Mediterranean rockrose. Rich, resinous, round and warm, this is a fragrance that affects the wearer at the deepest level. The aroma is erotic yet deeply grounding and has been used in meditative and spiritual practices for millennia. The Egyptians believed labdanum’s divine scent could even please the gods and evoke favour and protection.

Labdanum (pron. Lab-DuH-numb) is a sticky, brown resin distilled from the rockrose plant found in the Mediterranean. It’s sweet, thick, smokiness lends a spicy backbone to Oriental style perfumes, and combines well with leather and other heavy spices. Labdanum is also one of the best “fixatives” in perfume, making other notes last longer and smell stronger in a composition. If your favorite scents are smoke, vanilla, caramel, black rubber, or peppery spice - labdanum’s unique scent will appeal to you. Labdanum scents are best for colder weather, and reveal their smoky-sweet mystery the most in evening fragrances.

    Smells like my grandma
    Absolutely not. I'm so disappointed in this. After loving their Nosferatu scent, I thought I'd give this brand a try. This smelled like I walked into my grandma's closet. I don't get how others are saying this is wearable. This was SO unbearable to spray. I don't know if I just got a bad batch but this smells like it's been sitting for 20 years in my grandma's drawer. Just no.

    Nice !
    The labdanum and pepper really shine through for me, the vanilla isn’t too overpowering it just adds a touch of sweetness, I normally don’t like vanilla scents but it works well with this !

    Heretic- lovely again
    It's very musky and quickly becomes a skin scent. If it were a beast mode fragrance, I'd give it 5 stars. There's something about it that is super familiar but I genuinely can't put my finger on it. Either way, gorgeous!
