The name of the scent is a homage to its tarry black heart-chord of labdanum, obtained from a species of Mediterranean rockrose. Rich, resinous, round and warm, this is a fragrance that affects the wearer at the deepest level. The aroma is erotic yet deeply grounding and has been used in meditative and spiritual practices for millennia. The Egyptians believed labdanumâs divine scent could even please the gods and evoke favour and protection.
