Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer known for his innovations with fabric and his use of technology to produce interesting and practical garments.

Miyake's fashions and perfumes reflect a sense of humor and make use of multi-lingual puns. A-POC, for example, sounds like the English word "Epoch." When Miyake launched his first perfume, L'eau d'Issey for women in 1992, the name is a homonym for the French word l'Odyssée ("odyssey" in English). A Scent by Issey Miyake, launched in 2009, could be read as "ascent by Issey Miyake." Miyake also maintains a store in Japan called ELLTOB TEP ("pet bottle" spelled backwards) which sells his entire line.

Issey Miyake is a Japanese designer brand famous for one-of-a-kind fragrances and high-tech clothing designs. The luxury fashion house is named after its founder, Issey Miyake, who is best known for his creation of Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey EDT — a breathtaking fragrance inspired by the idea of water on a woman’s skin.

Miyake created L’Eau D’Issey with perfumer Jacques Cavallier in 1992. The scent was a masterpiece, winning several perfume awards and resonating with women around the globe. Today, more than three decades after its launch, this Issey Miyake perfume is still a top seller, standing the test of time.

L’Eau D’Issey — or Issey’s water in French, takes its inspiration from water and transforms it into a luxurious aroma. L’Eau D’Issey EDP is a sunny floral aquatic with a vibrancy that feels similar to the original but with a touch of sunshine.
