Pleasing but fairly ordinary scent
I don't find much in common between this flanker and black orchid. I detect none of the almost licorice dominant notes of the original, and obviously none of its heavy unusual monstrosity. It has mild to moderate projection and much more nominal longevity, probably around 3 to 4 hours. I could swear I saw a reviewer elsewhere comment on its similarity to Bath and Body (Japanese?) Cherry Blossom, and I think this is a near dupe. For those that care, I received zero compliments, complaints or questions. My boyfriend said nothing and he is quite opinionated regarding fragrances, if he likes it he winds up wearing it and definitely comments if he dislikes it (only Mugler Alien so far, sadly). I wore it probably almost 3 dozen times, in both cold and warm weather, and layered a couple of times with other scents. None of that seems to affect much, but you can bury it easily with other louder power fragrances. In terms of notes, I'm not sure I can pick any out, it's maybe too much of a postmodern, fantasy accord-type fragrance. It reminds me of scents like CK Euphoria in that respect, with no exact photorealistic note to identify, more of a mish mash of somewhat synthetic, near gourmond impressions. But I will try my best-- I would definitely call this a sweet but not a cloying gourmond scent, not floral or spicy really at all. It makes me think of cashmeran actually, and it pretty much drowns out everything else. Maybe some traces of rum, honey, labdanum, suede and powder. It is very pleasant and relatively inoffensive however. It smells quality and not synthetic in a plasticky sickening kind of way. I would imagine that most who like Euphoria would like this frag, despite the relative unlikeness of the two. Basically I'm extremely bored of it, but I'm sure I could always get some use out of it if I had some around.
