More mid life crisis than old lady perfume
I imagine this being an excellent scent for someone in their 40's and beyond; or if you like florals but are looking for something elegant and sophisticated (and not sweet and cloying, because this isn't that at all). The top note is all white floral, but if you give it a couple minutes the musk brings it down to a powdery floral. BUT the woody base keeps it away from being a flowery, powdery, old lady perfume in the dry down. As the description says, the gardenia, musk, and wood notes anchor and balance each other very nicely. However, I personally am much more of a woodsy gal so I was a bit disapointed that the heart of this is really more of a flowery, powdery musk controlled by a wood that you can't really smell on it's own, so if your looking for the "woody" more than the floral, you may be dissapointed. That being said, I still can't help but love this perfume.
Thank you for the great review. I like woodsy scents too. I have a recommendation for you. Thanks for the review here. I was beginning to doubt my choice of Narcisso Rodriguez, you reassured me.
I Love Bon Parfumeur 602. You can tell it comes from a perfume house. Not a mass production. I got it at Scentbird and it’s awesome. It’s unisex, on me it smelled sweet and a hint of pepper but on my son- cedar is the main note. It just smells good. I gave it to my son, he’s 12 😉
Hope this helps. Also- they don’t have it here (wish they did) but you can get purse sprays of Clean Sueded Oud at other retailers.
