Strong overpowering wood smell
A little musky for me.
Dont like the smell!!
very sexy scent!
I am so confused ...
Upon first spray, this literally smells like an old hippie. It is woody, earthy and downright dirty. But then, once it’s on the skin, it changes into something else. Sensual. Intriguing. Not quite old hippie or old lady but I’m not sure I could wear it in public without people asking who forgot to take a shower. I will say this... Allure rated it as a top choice for a reason. This is a very complex scent but I think I could wear it for an appropriate occasion. The jury is still out. Definitely not the same in the bottle as on the skin, but definitely for a more daring personality that’s not afraid to wear something outside the box.
Not on me
Multidimensional smell. Just didn’t work on me. After about 30 minutes I could only smell incense.
It smells horrible it's too strong. It kinda smells like cologne....it reminds me of a perfume from the 90s

I didn’t care for this Scent.
The scent was just too strong.
Not what I expected
This is probably not for everyone, you have to have a particular nose for this. This scent is not my taste at all. This reminds me of what I think a hippie would smell like. Ancient (lol) and like incense. The dry down is a tiny bit nicer and not as strong, but I still don’t like this scent. I thought the vanilla and iris would sweeten it up a bit but not at all. This is not a sexy scent, to me at least, but in general anyways.
smelled very spicy pretty much uni sex like. I loved it.
Not a great smell for me
If you're a fan of LUSH Karma, you are sure to love this. It smells interesting. I would probably wear it if heavy patchouli wasn't migraine inducing for me.
love the smell of wood. Last long
smells like an older lady
Very unique fragrance -- a little too "out there" for me. Had a cloying scent about it that I felt I couldn't escape from. Kind of heavy and dark.
smells like grandma
one of the worst smells I ever have ever smelled........
Woody, slightly floral
I love this! I am a spicy/Woody/musky scent kind of girl—this one is right on. Just a hint of floral.
Not my type
Didn’t care for the smell
this was very disappointing as all I smell is the wood smell. it's like wearing a campfire.
Way too floral. Smelt almost cheap. Not my kind of scent.
Definitely a Winter Evening scent
Not bad.... just not for me. This is definitely a scent for a Winter evening
I love this scent.
Thought I would give it a try
I am on a ELDO binge at the moment, and after receiving and loving I Am Trash and Remarkable People, I figured I would give this one a shot. Not usually what I go for as far as scent profiles, but this house has a way of blending fragrances in such a way that they tend to grow on you the more you wear them. I REALLY wanted to like this perfume, but from the first spray I knew it was not for me. It’s not absolutely terrible, but I dislike the smell of patchouli, and it was so overpowering in this scent. After the dry down, it just reminded me of something an older woman might wear. I will say that the staying power of this fragrance is remarkable- I showered and could still smell it afterwards. So, that’s a plus, but it stops there. Ended up giving it to a coworker!
Had to wash it off right away
I love unique scents that have substance. No flowery fragrance for me so this one hit the mark. This is a deep earthy scent to me and it’s perfect for fall and winter

considering buying the bottle
A smell that is overwhelming at first, but grows on you. All my guy friends love the scent after it has faded slightly.
35 to 44
Good, but not on a person.
This seriously reminds me of a scratch-and-sniff book I had as a child. I would probably like this as a candle, but it's weird on a person.

An amazing fall fragrance from the house of ELDO. The notes of vanilla and neroli hit your nose almost instantaneously. The akigalawood in the dry down is smells simply amazing. Its almost akin to ELDO's Herman A Mes Cotes in my opinion. I highly recommend.
It smells more like for men. When you first open it it has a strong smell that’s not delightful . But after you spray it on and wait like 10 min it calms down the smell . Sorry not a fan of this one

This is sex. In a bottle. And it's amazing.
This is my first experience with ELDO, I selected this with a bit of fear and trepidation, given their Secretions Magnifique is credibly considered the most disgusting fragrance in the world. That said, this is quite possibly one of the most stunning, narcotic, and boldly sensual fragrances I've encountered. When I read some of the other reviews here, I wonder if we are talking about the same perfume. Une Amourette opens with a boozy, almost Cointreau-like sweetness that glides into an intoxicating neroli—I could not stop sniffing my wrist during this stage. The iris is definitely there, but it's a dusty iris, not a powdery iris, more pungent and earthy. It's a beautiful foil for the neroli. The Akigalawood creeps in around hour three, but it's not the patchouli you're expecting. There's a peppery, sweaty (in a good way, like the sweat on the neck of a man who's wearing fabulous aftershave) undercurrent that just draws you in and holds your attention. I want to just bury my nose in my wrist and elbow, it's so alluring and sexy. This is an ageless, timeless, genderless fragrance you should definitely wear on special evenings with someone special. Or just wear it when you want to remember the best fling of your life and enjoy a secret smile. I rate this 5/10 sillage, 7/10 longevity, and 10/10 "wow" factor.
Quite possibly the best review I've ever read. WOW! :)
One of the most manly smells that I have gotten from Scentbird... and it doesn't smell good enough for even a man to wear. Definitely would not recommend this for anyone, male or female.

Love how unique this scent is, many complements every time i wear this! I need the full size bottle
45 to 54
Absolutely LOVE this fragrance...
I am not a fan of floral scents, rather a fan of unusual, smokey, deep scents that you might find in a man's cologne but still has a feminine sexy smell. I picked this one having never heard of it before. I was a bit skeptical as it stated there was an iris aroma in it. However the vanilla and leather tones description sold me on trying it out. WOW, I AM SO GLAD I DID. Great for any occasion. Unusual, mysterious and sexy different.
35 to 44
One of worst perfumes I’ve ever smelled!
Would not expect that this was a women’s fragrance at all. In fact after I sprayed it I wished I hadnt’ and checked to make sure they sent me the right fragrance. Smells like a combo of an old man/lady and pepper
Thrift Store Esque
I liked it, but my hubs hates it. Every time he gets a whiff of it, he cracks a joke about being in a thrift store, lol. I have gotten compliments on it though. The next scent I got by these guys, called “I Am Trash”, I actually liked a lot better. It was brighter and less nostalgic-in-a-meh-way.

A whole Different Creature
This is not easy-going or for the average person. This is a interesting earthy and resinous fragrance with unique floral components. Very well done and blended very well, but daring and unique. I try wearing this as a man, but wonder if it would be better on a witchy lady.

Etat Libre d`Orange
This perfume does not smell like a perfume at all. It is terrible.

For a different Breed
This Perfume I believe is more geared for somebody that is more descriptive imaginative and possibly has a higher intellect. Not to be rude but I think it develops for people of a different ilk I find it fascinating just because I love all perfumes and this one for me is the silage monster I absolutely crave and an in and its definitely something different Which is always a plus for me.It’s most def. not for you if you like cliché niche type perfumes. Ill wear it so all the poobutt whiny babies will stay away ;) works better than bear spray for morons anyhoo ;) oh I want a clean perfume, that doesn’t smell like perfume but instead like bad breathe but only for 2 hours not 8. Man get the BLEEP out here with that sht and STFU about old ladies
35 to 44
Not my Fav
This Perfume is very strong with a hint of flower. I wouldn't consider this sent feminine at all I think it smells 75% masculine and 25% feminine. In my opinion, I think it can be worn by either sex.
25 to 34
This is one of the nastiest smelling perfumes I’ve ever smelled. I sprayed it on myself, not being able to smell it in Thebes bottle and that was a huge mistake! It smells so bad! It sounds very woodsy and old smelling.
35 to 44
This fragrance is for you who love a strong statement and something to stay on this is it.
45 to 54
It is very old lady scent
25 to 34
My fav scent so far
This fragrance is very striking. Citrus, earthy, gender neutral. Passionate and mysterious.
Delicious Pencil Shavings <3
I'm SO glad I went with my gut on this one. It reminds me of hand cranked pencil sharpener shavings soaked in something...floral? Sweet? I can't put my finger on it but it's amazing. Husband approved (not that it would stop me from wearing if he didn't ;))! If you're looking for something a bit unusual and off the beaten path, swoop this gal up ASAP.
25 to 34
At first I can only smell wood, and to my nose it is cedar-y and not unpleasant. It’s not until the dry down that the woodiness begins to fade some and a hint of vanilla comes out. I like to add more vanilla for added sweetness and femininity.
25 to 34
First scent I've received that I absolutely hated, smells horrible.
25 to 34
This scent was a lot more masculine than expected. It had a strong peppery smell rather than the other notes listed.
55 to 64
I am glad I experience this scent, however, the floral-ness of the neroli is a bit too much for me personally, although I am sure lots of people really enjoy it. I hoped for a little more orange peel and vanilla with a hint of wood.
Not for me
45 to 54
This is a perfume that wears me, not the other way round. Its really overpowering and I can smell the leather in it and I guess I've learned I don't like that in a perfume. Unbalanced.
55 to 64
My All Time Favorite
I love love this scent. My favorite. I get compliments all the time and It is exactly the mix of scents I crave
25 to 34
Smells old. No like.
55 to 64
Very unique. When I first tried this I thought I didn't like it. My first impression was that it smelled chemical dirty and I scrubbed it off. Today I gave it a 2nd chance. The akigalawood opens as a dark dirty patchouli but I left it on long enough to unfold this time. Very happy I did or I wouldn't have experienced the beautiful blend of creamy vanilla and elegant iris supporting the earthy, woody scent the akigalawood had transformed into highlighted by neroli's spicy citrus. I look forward to trying other fragrances by this intriguing house.
Seriously, I love this brand, but this smells like cedar hamster litter. And it WILL NOT COME OFF! Multiple showers and a baking soda scrub won’t pull this vile pathogen off my skin. I may smell like small animal bedding forever.
Fresh, clean and perfect for Spring.
I don't hate this scent-though I don't love it either. It's unisex for sure. It's hard and edgy with a dark note. It's a cool edgy scent.
Just okay but not awful
This is a very masculine/earthy fragrance. While I don't hate the smell...its too much for me. O think its a great option for a home/car scent.
Unusual and Pleasant
Had I gone by all the negative reviews I wouldn't have bothered, but I'm glad I checked Fragrantica first; their reviews were more accurate. I very much like this scent, it's unlike anything else I have. A little sweet at first, but it fades into a warm, musk-like fragrance that is very nice. Glad with my purchase and I think I may even purchase a full-size once my sample is done.
I didn't care for this one.
Not a match
I did not like this perfume at all
Nice and cultural
I really liked this scent. It got a lot of compliments. Not overly strong, but effective.
I don't like the smell. Made me sick. Something strong and off about it.
I WAS PRETTY SURE THAT THEY SENT ME A MEN'S COLOGNE. THIS IS STRONG, SMELLS CHEAP AND THERE IS NOTHING APPEALING ABOUT IT.
This perfume smells really clean and just a bit sexy. I think it's a fine everyday smell and perfect for the office. I just live being able to smell it all day, too. Let's you know it lasts and everyone, including yourself can enjoy it. I don't know about anybody else, but I like to wear scents that I really love. This is it.
This smells amazing. If you don't care for woody, strong incense, colon type of scents, this is not for you.
Woody, Spicy, Terrible
Worst scent I have received from Scent Bird.
Terrible :( I did not have this in my queue and received it. Very disappointed.
I felt it was a bit "old lady". It's not a bad smell, but the woodsy undertone had big staying power, whereas the lighter scents that balanced out the oud/woodsy scents melted away quickly on my skin. You could layer the scent to make it work out for a "sexier" scent, but alone, it might age you a bit.
Was a little put off at first but is a great smell as you go about your day.
just too much
I found this too strong and it never seemed to settle into an actual scent. I couldn't smell any particular notes in it.
I'm no sure what I expected this to smell like, but I definitely didn't expect what I got. it has a very strong woody musk scent. Seemed like more a male scent then for women. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
Did not like this scent at all. It was weird. Didn't really smell like what I would expect perfume to smell like. Not good. Would not recommend. Unless you enjoy smelling like you've been rolling around on the ground in the woods.
Hate this !!
Smells like a bengay and Vicks ..very nasty.... Made me sick to smell...wish I could get a different scent. ...gross..
No no no!
Women should not smell like this unless they already live in the woods. Waste of money!!!!
I’m not sure what I was expecting from this. It’s different. I loved the way it smelled at first. I like the deep spicy scent. But then I couldn’t decide. No one around me loved it. But I picked up the scarf I had on that day and thought it was wonderful. So I’m trying it again today. Maybe it’s a summer scent. I’ll keep it and try again in the warmer months. Not writing it off yet!
Very strong, overbearing and not at all lovely Threw it in the trash, it's that bad
Etat Libre D'Orange
Overall this was a pretty disappointing scent for it to be my first. It has a very spicy note which is the opposite of what I expected after reading about it. I think I used it for three days before I put it away and waited for my next months scent. It is extremely strong and once you find out you don't like it you're stuck with it all day and even into the next day. Way too powerful and not even a good smell.
When i wear this fragrance i am constantly asked what im wearing. It is a very distinctive scent and reminds you alot of some of the classic Jo Malone original scents
Smells exactly like something my grandmother would wear. Doesn't even deserve one star **covers nose**
It made me smell like a hippie.
Not sure about this
Normally , I Love Love Love spicy more masculine smells, but this one not so much, the Patchouly is overpowering and the undertones remind me of a 90 year old who sprayed on way too much perfume, that she got at goodwill that was way out of date. Now a few days later it was still on the sleeve of my jacket and it smelled great once it died down. Not a fan at all. My fiancé turned his nose up and was like um babe....NO!!!
Well well, any 90 year old that still goes shopping at a thrift store will get my vote every single time. Bet she's still sharp cause she wasn't selfie obsessed and knows what a real conversation is and never needs someone else to tell her what she should like.
Not my thing.
This is a very, very strong scent.
When I first smelled this, it reminded me of Tom Ford's White Patchouli, only slightly different. The first day I wore it, I had three compliments. I honestly couldn't smell it on myself after an hour or so, but throughout the day, I had people asking me what fragrance I was using. And the wonderful compliments continue each time I wear it. I really like this fragrance, and I plan to order a full size bottle!
Lasting Unique smell
It smells very strong at first, but the lasting smell is wonderful. I have had many compliments on it.
Strong and bad
The scent was very overwhelming. I thought it would die down, and pick up some of my body’s own chemistry and scent but no!!! It smelled strong, manly and then citrusy. I don’t mean to sound dramatic, but I was definitely disappointed
ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE UNEAMOURETTEE
The scent is a bit strong but not bad, more of a unisex fragrance. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you're into heavy smells
Not what I expected
I didn't care for this at all and it is very strong scent. My favorite so far has been Prada Candy. I normally wear Provocative.
Very strong lingering scent but not in a good way. My husband kept thinking he had permanent marker on his hand bc the smell was a lot like that. It was very chemical smelling and too intense. I tried it a few different times but even my kids didn’t like it on me. Unpleasant.
I read the previous reviews and knew I would love this scent based on the negative impression from others. This smells like a thrift store meets the cabin with your grandma in the woods. It has so many earthy raw and powerful notes I am in heaven. It's everything I look for in a scent. Very unique and versitile in my opinion. I pair it with my Aveda chakra 1.
Nothing like it!
Definitely not what I expected at first - I think the blend of Neroli, Iris, and Cardamom is what people don’t like, but this fades! Once it’s airs out and dries down the vanilla and earth tones really come across and this smells nice! Feminine and unique. Give it a try! Don’t let the first few seconds fool you - I’ve been getting non-stop compliments on this!
Wow...it smells like rotten wood and old almonds with turned oranges...so gross If you like this then there is something wrong with your sense of smell. I have tried to give it away and NO ONE will even take it from me! Musk, pine, woods, and Old Elisabeth Taylor perfume powered at 100%....its gross
Give it a minute to air and it is sublime
When I first sprayed this scent I was immediately repulsed, BUT, as it dried (within a min or two) I was enchanted by this scent. It is definitely unique and people will ask what smells so good. I think it may work with some chemistries better than others. This is definitely a love it or hate it scent and I love it! Reminds me of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid.
I love it...very unique everyone will notice you when you walk in the room. I love unique different scents. Not typical for everyone else!
It smells like a sour old man
I HATE PATCHOULLI and it was full of it. Having "Orange" in the title of this perfume is deceiving. I'm more of a citrus-y girl so I thought that's what I'd love about this perfume. I was wrong. I sprayed it once and can't bear to wear it EVER again. I immediately washed the scent off my skin. YUCK.
The “Orange” is in the name of the fragrance designer, not the fragrance. There is no patchouli listed in this fragrance but they do mention insence, that’s probably what your picking up.
More of a men’s
Nothing feminine about this if you ask me. No sweetness. All bitter. Gave it to my bf who thought it was mediocre but not for women at all.
I don’t know how or why this was added to my queue but my other was deleted and this was added. I hate musk and this smells like a turd on a stick. I even emailed scentbird when it was processing to stop it but they sent it anyway and I didn’t even hear from them. So glad I cancelled my subscription. I guess this might be why it was switched....
I love it
Right away I really liked it...it did not fade away... it is distinct not soft and flowery... it is spicy romantic and mysterious....it made me think of ysitis....I really like it
Did nor like
Nope. Maybe as a room spray during the holidays, cause it smells like straight up pine tree.
I bought this for my wife. She and I didn't like like the way it smelled, do not recommend this perfume. Smells line old Grand ma. Dead carcass
Etat libre d’orange
This smells more like a cologne then a perfume did not like this at all. The thing is it was not in my lineup oh well but it’s more for an older man like my grandpa.
My compliments of this perfum wasn’t that great. I was asked do you smell spick n span (old cleaning solutions) that was embarrassing. I do not like.
Unfortunately, this fragrance smelled more like cleaning supplies and anything else. I tried wearing it a second time and just could not stand it Stay away from it!
My cat hissed and wouldnt come near me until I washed it off. My husband told me I smelled like one of those pine tree car deodorizers. It's a no for me
Love this scent. I like unique...this is it! A must try if you dare!
It’s a no for me
I was expecting a more soft and sexy fragrance being that that’s usually what I get with vanilla and wood notes but this one was so strong I literally coughed after spraying it. It’s a very powdery fragrance and very mature if you know what I mean. Not for me at all.
Too much of a musky powder scent. Can't believe Allure would put their st as mp on it.
Unpleasant for my liking
This scent wasn't even in my lineup however I received it. I personally DON'T like this fragrance, very over powering and depending on who is wearing it..it stinks. Very masculine.
Like alcohol and patchouli
Not a feminine scent at all. Very strong. My hubby could not stop sneezing! I thought with wear it would lighten up and I could wear it when I felt super confident and badass... but this is just not good. I don't know how Allure gave it it's seal honestly. It's an acquired scent. Very strong of alcohol and incense mixed with patchouli and musk. It's very difficult to describe. Let's just say, if you're like me and you love a good fresh clean scent with a hint of flower, then this is NOT for you.
Not for me
I like more feminine scents. This one is strong and not fruity smelling as I thought based off of the name. Is very overwhelming. I am disappointed. I want to return or exchange this please.
I’m not sure how the perfume smells since I never got it.
This lerfume starts out very sharp and bitter but it mellows to a sweet vanilla almond that will have you coming back for more. Its a very mature fragrance, good for an intimate dinner date or at the office
Does not smell right
Doesn't smell good on me way to manly and just musky
absolutely loved this one
My new favorite
This perfume was a total surprise for me. At first it has such a huge Neroli hit; but after that it’s got an amazing dry down, it smelled different to everyone who smelled it. I was hooked in days and had to buy a whole bottle. Highly recommend.
I really don't know how you can't love this! Such a sexy, intense scent! Love
Like Classy Bug Spray
Very medicinal and masculine. Smelled like a nice bug spray. Not my favorite.
Too strong in a repugnant way
The scent is overwhelmingly citrus-y. Not good at all
Not for everyone
intially, i wasn't sure about this scent. Definitely a strong one. Less is more for this baby. Way less. Kind of reminds me of patcholi. Which i like, but in small quantities. The wear down is much more desirable. Like sweet vanilla. Just have to get past the strong front. Certainly, an acquired scent. Like i said...it's not for everyone. If you like to stand out, then this is the scent for you.
Agree with all the negative
I got this based on a review in a magazine, I should have read the reviews on Scentbird. Way too strong and masculine. Smells like a dope-smoking great-grandmother. I'm literally too scared to put it on my skin, so this review is based on out-of-the-vial smell. Not for me.
