Not well blended at all
I had so hoped to like this one. Instead I find it cloying, with too much going on. To my nose it smells cheap, loud, and generic in the worst ways.
I expected the Bergamot and Ylang Ylang to provide freshness, but the vanilla overpowered. Not a bad scent, but not my favorite.
Romance in a bottle! Beautiful scent. Is now one of my favorites.
My New Fav
This is the way I want to smell always! Delicious, sexy, subtle.
It was offensive
I sprayed it once, it was horrible, and it immediately went into the garbage.
This is an ok scent but it’s just too powdery for me, and I cannot smell the coconut. It does last a long time though.
was too strong for me
I love this! So unique and definitely not for everyone. It reminds me of being in an old church. It smells very intense at first spray, but once I let it settle, it relaxes and smells lovely.
Unique without being weird
Spicy yet still feminine
I loved this perfume - it lasts more than I expected and I can smell it from myself for around 6 hours, then it fades away. It is very optimistic and happy. I don't feel cinnamon and citruses - I smell hyacinths. Thus, for me, it is a spring fragrance. I will consider buying a whole bottom when my scentbird runs off.

I didn't like it way too strong and more of an older women smell
I didn't like this one as much as I am trash, but my boyfriend liked it.
Love this one.
Definitely not a scent for me. It was strange how when I sprayed this scent I was instantly reminded of my 1st grade teacher... that was back in 1987😕 This perfume is very overwhelming to your👃and just way to 💪. It’s like a baby powder scent on steroids mixed with autumn/winter spice. After a couple of hours it did mellow, 🤔 but I still don’t like it. This would be a great gift for a Lawrence Welk fan. 😂
Too strong, bold
This was not my favorite at first. When I first opened it, it smelled like a bottle of perfume you find in your mom's closet from the 70s. That expired fragrance smell. But there is something about it. I think it is that smell that is so nostalgic and for some reason you still love it. But don't be fooled, they're still fresh notes that keep you coming back! I just would not wear this daily.
too musky and heavy
Not only did I not enjoy this fragrance - but the bottle was half empty. I contacted scentbird and nothing has been done yet

The listed notes on this scent sounded right up my alley and I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately, it smells like something my grandmother would have worn. Extra unfortunate: it's both very strong and has amazing lasting power. I'm not sure how the fresh/citrusy notes listed add up to the geriatric fragrance this gives off, but I would suggest trying almost anything else.
I agree, it was horrible! The only scent I've gotten in 2 yrs that was so bad I had to throw it away.
Not good. Smells like an old lady

Heavy and old
I couldn't get the smell washed off my fingers just from pulling it out of the sleeve. I would never dare spray it. It's like a cherry blossom gone wrong. So hard to describe except "ugh.. wow, no."

Only the 2nd scent in over a yr that I had to toss. Talk about outdated strong old lady scent, yuck! It's just so bad.

The second Scent from ETdO, and still no good.
Unfortunately, did not care for this one at all. Like their Noel at the Balcony more, however, still would not reorder even the travel size. Maybe their perfumes not presented on this website is better?... On top of everything, has no lasting power, at least on me.

Nice but not for me
It is a nice scent, a bit to matronly for me. I like scents a bit lightee.

Reminds me of Grandma
It smells very musty in a bad way to me. Reminds me of my grandmother too much.

I usually can appreciate a sophisticated scent, but this fragrance smells like overwhelmingly sweet baby powder. Very old lady-ish. I wish I could return this. It's awful... unless you're looking for a gift for your grandma... She'd probably think it was okay.

Dark and smoky
I like this a lot! Not sure I’d get a full size, I rotate fragrances often, but I’m really enjoying it so far. I’d consider it. It reminds me of a perfume my mom had when I was little that smelled like incense. It’s dark and also sweet, a dark vanilla floral. I don’t know if the name suggested orange to me, but I can’t detect it right away. It’s like dried, candied sweet orange with a little something more.
I really enjoyed this scent, it was strong but faded down over several hours to be close to my skin. It smells very different on me and on my wife, on her it's a very deep, dark floral with strong iris notes, on me it smells more sweet, almost like a grown-up complex version of Smarties candy.
This one lasts for a really long time and has a nice sense. Think religious experience inside a temple meets walking through a very floral scented garden in the middle of spring! I love this one. It’s strong and you only need such a tiny spray. You know how you see women spray perfume and walk into the mist; this is one to do that with. But don’t waste it...spray just a dash and catch it on your skin/clothes...it’s just enough. Worth trying if you like something a little daring, people will notice it. BUT, it’s strong so don’t put people off by using too much because it’s worth smelling. Don’t deny those around you of this great one.
Not my favorite
I feel like this scent is too strong for me. After it died down, I did like it. Just not my favorite.
it does leave a baby powder scent after it's settled awhile. Overall it's not bad. Definitely smelled better than i expected it to after reading the comments.
Reminds me of the '80s - in a great way
My first sniff of the vial felt familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it - then it hit me. It reminds me of Shalimar and Emeraude - both vintage scents that I wore in high school in the '80s. At first it's bright and citrusy and dries down to a creamy, cozy fragrance I can't stop smelling. I've always been a fan of older, pre-1980s scents so I guess it makes sense I'm enjoying this. I've seen comments of "powdery" (I guess as it softens up), "old lady" (again, reminds me of two vintage scents so I see that) and "sweet" (it is sweet but not like most modern sugar scented fragrances that I find unpleasant). A co-worker immediately said it reminds her of Love's (baby soft) - it smells NOTHING like it but I totally understand what she meant - it feels like my youth, lol. I'm really loving this.
ON me this is a gorgeous skin scent that evokes similar feelings to eldo noel au balcone. The vanilla and amber are nciely balanced, with a touch of incense. Planning to wear this all holiday season.
Its not good to me. Like old lady scent
I was looking for more of a tropical scent. This was very a very powdery scent
DOESN'T LAST LONG
Ugh... I really wanted this to be my new favorite... However the scent doesn't last very long... Its a lovely scent but not spot on for me..
Was willing to give 'Bijou Romantique' a try...
The reason i started my Scentbird subscription was to try new perfume houses and new or unusual scents, in short, to step outside my comfort zone. I ignored the negative reviews and ordered it anyway, hoping to be impressed because the notes, according to Scentbird are coconut, vanilla, bergamot ... all scents I adore. This perfume was NOTHING like those notes! It was not a good scent on me, from start to finish. Bijou Romantique overpowered me and seemed to be a very mature scent, granny-like some reviewers noted. The sad thing is the sillage and longevity of this perfume was incredible- I continued to smell it on me throughout the day, and even on my clothes I had been wearing for days later! It was too powdery and reminded me of an unpleasant expired bottle of sunscreen. Try it if you must, but after my second chance spray I had to toss it. 😫
Better than expected!
Was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fragrance! Love trying new things I would not normally have access to without committing to making a larger purchase!
horrible old lady smell
This is a very strong scent and smells nothing of what it claims to. Alls I smell is baby powder and old lady. I dont smell any of its front or back tones. I realize different smells smell differently on other people, however I have had a couple people try it as well so I didnt feel like I was going crazy... and thats all they smell as well. I made the mistake of spraying it right before work and by noon I had a headache from it. no thank you! This is a HARD pass....
Can we please stop describing fragrances as "old lady?" Ugh! I'm a new Scentbird subscriber as of December 2018, and I am so turned off by the number of scents I want to try that someone has decided to label as "old lady," as if something is automatically crap because you associate it with someone more than 25 or 30 years old, as if only 25- or 30-year-old women smell beautiful or classy or elegant or exciting. What, exactly, does an old lady smell like? And at what point does one become an "old lady?" Some of the women I love and admire the most are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, and funny enough, they all smell different and have very diverse preferences in their fragrance. So, what does an old lady smell like? And at what point do I have to say I smell like an old lady? Can we please just use our words and describe what we smell or experience with the fragrance and not say something offensive like "it smells like old lady?" We are better than that.
Bijou Romantique opens with a sweet, vanilla blast with a tinge of bergamot. It dries down nicely into a woody, powdery coconut. I've heard it compared to Mugler Angel Muse and Guerlain Shalimar; if the two had babies, one of them could be Bijou Romantique.
Not a bad scent, but it's not for me.
Literally smells like bug spray mixed with perfume. Not a plesent smell
I hated this. It reminds me of an overpowering perfume that my granny wore. not good. don't get it.
Very overpowering and unpleasant scent
I thought it would be somewhat citrusy, as that is my scent preference and this was suggested. Horrible scent. Powdery, floral and not in a good way. It almost smelled like that scent from the 80s, Chantilly, that you could buy at the Walgreens counterr, but worse. It gave me a terrible headache and I wished I could have sent it back an gotten something else. Do not recommend this fragrance at all.
Strong and Clingly
I wasn't a huge fan of this scent. It lends a hand to scents that grab a hold of everything and is just too loud. I did like the one review that spoke of applying before bedtime and it was still around in the morning, I might try this technique to calm it down.
I wasn’t sure of the scent in the bottle, so I took a chance and put one spray on to try it out around the house. Big mistake. It was even worse on. It kinda smelled like someone was trying to cover up the scent of cat pee by covering it with baby powder. Thankfully I was home so I could change immediately.
Not my kind of scent
I'm not a fan of the scent. I'm more into floral sweet scents.
Grown up coconut. Delish. I wanted to bathe in it. Complex but not heavy. Powerful but not obtuse.
did not care for this, with me it smelled powdery and I prefer floral scents
I really liked this one! Not too sweet, I think I was expecting a more citrusy scent. It’s more warm & rich.
That sexy yum yum
This scent reminds me of Tom Ford Noir but it’s creamier and sexier. Definitely a winter scent. Dries down very softly on the skin and has pretty good staying power. I sprayed it before going to bed and my skin still had a faint scent which never happens.
