A summer classic scent, a favorite of everyone
Prior to receiving the perfume, I hadn't even tried D&G Light Blue, but knew of it as a best seller. That perhaps kept me away from it for so long - it is everywhere and so many wear it. My husband even has the male version and it is his favorite. But sometimes, in creating the female version, notes are lost and it just seems watered down. I received this perfume back in April, sprayed it and promptly stored it away for summer. The women's version seemed to be created for those lovely, hot days of summer and I had a feeling that the notes would open up more in July as opposed to the cold, rainy Northern New England spring days. I wasn't disappointed. The perfume opens up with bright, sweet lemon and apple notes, which tone down after 15 minutes, but traces of the fruit remain behind. The combination of soft florals (like bluebell, jasmine, and a bit of rose) keep the perfume light while amber and cedar woods help radiate a summer's day warmth. Not heavy at all! In wearing it, I sort of pick up on lavender, but that may be my own body chemistry at play, though. I would have loved some of the notes of the Pour Homme version in there, but that would make it too heavy for most then. This is now one of my go-to summer perfumes (the others being Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess and Aerin Hibiscus Palm). This one can be worn any where and is mostly a day scent. Safe for offices and wearing to day cares - does not offend and isn't heavy to be around.
