Marem elegantly evokes the glamour and fashion of Hollywood in the 1920’s, with a dark, tempting combination of lush rose and spicy red currants. Sparkling citrus and sweet amber accents mingle with woody and floral flourishes in this racy retro fragrance.

I like that it's vegan and cruelty-free. It's really hard to pick something without smelling it first. The descriptions don't really help me, I can't picture what it will smell like in real life. Luckily I like this one. I don't love it but I like it enough to keep it. It's more flowery than I usually like, it smells a bit like old lady perfume. But overall it's not bad.
Powerful at first, overwhelmingly Roses, then dries to a lighter more pleasant undeniable scent of roses...just not my personal style, if you love roses this is for you...!!!
Amber really gets me. Some fragrances manage to make it something sultry and wearable, as in Sexy Amber. These fragrances mimicking older styles have the Amber in a spicy way, where I can smell the whine of it the second i take it out of the box. No one around me cares to smell this. The fragrance has a gorgeous woody drydown, and the rose is a very nice touch.
The scent notes were a bit overwhelming at first but they evened out after awhile.
The rose I have been searching for
This is an old school more sophisticated rose perfume. It might be too much on a younger person but for the 30+ crowd it is a great daily fragrance. I should have guessed that Caswell-Massey would be the one to have what I wanted. This reminds me of the original Bvlgari Rose Essentielle. It dried down nicely and had good staying power. This might be my signature scent.
Cassell Massey Marem
I absolutely love this fragrance. I wear it on very special events.
It smelled like you had your nose.in a rose - which I thought I would like, however it was a little overpowering for me. My friend loved it.
Strong alcohol scent
Didn't think it would smell as old. Not young enough for me. I felt like an old lady.
I didn't like the scent

The moment I took my first whiff, I was struck with a splitting headache which made me feel nauseated and later turned into a legit migraine. Far, far too heady and floral-heavy of a fragrance for me! I usually like rose well enough, but the rose notes in this were both amplified and weighed down by some other oppressive element, which unfortunately I don’t know the name for, or quite know how to describe. Anyhoo, the other reviewers who said it smells like something an elderly grandmother would wear are definitely correct— not to be ageist or anything, but it is very mature, and not a scent one would generally associate with youth. However, one positive aspect of the fragrance was that it smelled expensive, and didn’t smell cheap in the slightest, which I appreciate.

There are contradictions in this fragrance.
The first breath of Marem is hedonistic. Rich gilded rose kicks everything out of its way and climbs down your throat like it knows what's best. Surprisingly, there's a confusing afternote that almost sours the entire performance. It seems as though whatever was supposed to act as buffer before the bergamot and after the rose realized it was only cast to get voted off in the second episode and quit in a tiff. Once things calm down, white musk drifts through on a cloud of green tea and is left standing alone without a hint of the carnage that came before. The lasting impression is largely one of, "What just happened and how much of it was memorable?" Quite frankly, I'm not entirely sure.

Not my favorite
I was not a huge fan of the scent, it was a little too musky for me. It reminded me of a scent my grandmother would wear; not bad, just not my style.
Love the spicy floral scent
Did not like the scent as much as Beatrix. I could not smell any of the floral notes.
Sweet Blast From The Past
True to the description, this scent goes on with a retro, powdery blast. But, then it tapers down to a warm, slightly spicy scent. Moderate staying power.
Unexpectedly nice feminine fragrance.

Scent Not Good For Me
I can't give this scent a high rating, because it definitely did not agree with my body chemistry. I just tested a small amount on the back of my hand and I started not to feel very well! It didn't remind me of anything that I've ever worn or would choose to wear. For special occasions and going to church, I wear Tresor; for everyday fragrances, I've had to wear fragrances from Bath and Body Works that have been discontinued (Black Amethyst and Romance). If you can find a scent like these, I would be a LIFETIME customer. I don't want to share this on social media, because I don't want to hurt your business! May I exchange this scent or any that I can't wear?

Not my favorite but ok
It didnt last as long as id expect, and was advertised as having amber tones, but i could not detect that.Overall its a mediocre switch from my go to everyday scent, but i really loved the extra tester "GetaRoom"
My absolute favorite by far. The fragrance is classic enough for the office, yet sultry enough for an evening out. The dark rose is the perfect base for the other fragrances to layer on. It's not overpowering, but lasts for a solid 5-6 hours. I get compliments whenever I wear it.
It grew on me and I love it. the smell is right for me
The rose note is very overpowering
It did not have a very long or lingering scent time. Disappointed that as soon as u spray the scent only hangs out for about 20 minutes.
Lots of rose
More rose than i expected. I dont generally enjoy heavy floral fragrances but i dont hate this.
This is a deep, rich, and maturely sexy scent.

this smells a little old lady-ish especially at first but after an hour it is a lot more mild and more tolerable. a little too powdery smelling for me.
this is my first time trying nice perfume and it has surprised me with the difference in quality! this is a nice scent, not overly rosey like some reviews state but just warm and nice. I like this and it lasts all day.
I absolutely love this scent! Very unique! Strong but not too strong!
Smelled too much like a forest with musk
it grew on me
At first, I was not a fan of this scent, as I found it to be super strong and heavy almost old lady like with chocolate and flowers, but after it settles, it was really nice and found myself smelling my shirt to breathe it in (don't judge)
smells great just....
its abit on the strong side for me. it has a sort of "thick" scent that tones down a little over time. I think, if layered with a softer scent i may like it more. i think it would be good for a date night or other evening engagement.

Classic, Versatile Rose Fragrance
Rose has a reputation for being an "old lady" scent. Meh. Not necessarily, it truly depends on the person wearing it. Personally, I love rose as a perfume note. I love realistic rose scents, and I think rose is fairly versatile note in terms of how you can wear it. Make no mistake, this is a ROSE scent. This opens with a blast of citrus. And, initially, I thought that this was going to be a scent that was too light to wear for colder weather. But, citrus is a notoriously short-lived note, and this scent had a lot more to give in the mid and in the dry down. The citrus turns into a stabilizing presence in the fragrance that keeps it from going too sweet. The rose becomes more prominent, and the amber and vanillic notes are present, but always stay in the background. The result is a well-balanced scent that can be worn for most occasions. This isn't a signature scent, but it's a wardrobe workhorse scent (for folks that like rose). It's a good quality fragrance that you will put in a rotation.

This scent is wonderful.... this for sure is a new fave...
My favorite so far!
I’m hard to please when it comes to fragrance and tend to find a signature scent and stick to it for years. This is my new one! Everyone who smells it on me comments on how wonderful it is!

This is very citrus at first but dries down to a lovely rose on my skin. Really calming after it dries down.

Very nice citrus, rose, spice/amber scent, in that order, with the rose and spices staying prominent to make it very unisex.

Absolutely love this scent!
I love every scent I've tried from Caswell-Massey. They are now my go-to for exclusive colognes. I will say that for Scentbird, I have had several defective sprayers, if I recieve another defective one, I will have to think about cancelling. Not Good Scentbird!!
Just chiming in to agree with the sprayer issue.
Heavy rose notes on me
First impression- STRONG notes of rose. Almost have to walk away immediately as I spritz this- though I will say I was sent a slightly defective sprayer, so I had to do multiple small spritzes instead of one normal size spritz, which is what I usually wear. The dry down for me is nice, very feminine, rose, fruit, woods. A little too much rose for me, but otherwise a nice, lasting fragrance.
Distinct and Lasting.
While it's not an immediate "love' fragrance for me, I DID go to sleep still sniffing my wrist, picking out the notes. This is for a confident, sexy person not afraid to make a statement. IMO it leans unisex, even with all the florals, because -on me- it smells sort of alcoholic- not in the boozy, but astringent way-like a drugstore cologne for old men. If there was a sexpot standing in that aisle, it would be Marem, quietly luring your nose to understand more. It's very unique, mysterious.
