Pink Sugar Sensual description
Pink Sugar Sensual is the silky, orange citrus-infused sister to the original Aquolina Pink Sugar. (For those of you curious, Pink Sugar is a dynamite raspberry and strawberry confection.)
Pink Sugar Sensual starts off with a brushed, downtempo, blend of orange blossom, blackcurrant, mandarin, and bergamot, with the piquant bitterness of bergamot and blackcurrant elevating the subdued softness of the orange blossom. Pink Sugar Sensual sets up a stylish and confident reserve, as it coolly whispers and cajoles the opening notes. There is an expectant hush in the top notes that draws the senses in close to the skin.
The heart notes of pink jasmine and tiare flower, with their puffy, sweet, cottony profiles fully present, continue that sensual hush on into the middle of the fragrance. This is a perfume people will slow down and lean in to discover. Its pink sugar sensuality blossoms out of the petals of ballet-slipper soft florals.
The dry down includes vanilla, toffee and sandalwood, and each note is just as serene as their counterparts in the rest of this perfume. The toffee and vanilla notes are slightly caramelized, with an almost burnt sugar tinge, especially in the toffee. The sandalwood is sheer and dry, and decorates the sweeter notes with a slightly spicy, almost incense-like purity. The whisper continues in the base, only with more distracting and tempting offers.
Taken together, both Aquolina’s Pink Sugar and Pink Sugar Sensual are finely-crafted bookend fragrances that artfully express their gourmand style in very different ways. If you need a carnival-ride overload of bright, sweet, red fruit, Pink Sugar’s fireworks will brighten your sky. But if you prefer a subtler scent, one that still carries a comfy sweet edge, but whispers its appeal instead of joyously shouting, Pink Sugar Sensual is the way to go. Either way, your sweet tooth will be happily polished by the time you’re done wearing them.
