The atomizer cases embrace the luxuriousness and the artistry of your scent by encasing the precious scent vials, safeguarding them against leakage all while exploding with vibrant colors that act as the last finishing touch of your personal style. Take them along for the ride, because they’re purse/pocket friendly, and always ready to accompany you on your adventures, big and small.
After all, you’re always extra, and we know that your scents deserve the same treatment.
HERE’S HOW TO USE YOUR THE NEW CASE:
– Pull each side of the case apart along the seam.
– Place the new fragrance vial in the center, aligning the nozzle with the L-shaped cutout.
– Place both sides of the case together, lining up each of the magnets to close it.
– Twist the top of the vial to lock and unlock the spray function.

I absolutely DESPISE these new cases. They’re stiff and clunky to use, and the direction of the perfume spray is somewhat unpredictable. I wasted a bunch of sprays in the process. And honestly, it was a b*tch move for Scentbird to have pushed the old cases for purchase so hard knowing full well they were replacing them with new ones.

You could buy “travel perfume” cases off Amazon that were much cheaper than from scent bird, they’re probably doing this just to make it harder to buy non-ludicrously priced cases
I just got my first scentbird order and although the perfume is great i was really surprised by the bulky tacky plastic atomizer. It looks cheap. I tried to find a compatible atomizer elsewhere but looks like this is my only option. I wouldn’t spend money on another one. I might be looking elsewhere for a subscription service with a more sophisticated packaging option.

I have just started my 3 fragrance per month subscription and case subscription. I never tried the old cases, but I LOVE the NEW ONES! I love how easy they are to use, and all the pretty colors! I just ordered a ton of new cases so all my fragrance vials are protected and pretty! I have no idea what everyone is complaining about! Change is good, people! Get over it!

This new case does not work at all. It doesn’t even spray it just kind of squirts. And that’s only sometimes. I’m thinking of cancelling because I can’t even use the case

I just my first bottle…. And I’ve spent like 30 minutes trying to figure out how the stray actually comes out? Is there something I’m missing?
Hi Nichole, your new fragrance case is two separate pieces that are held together magnetically. To remove the vial from the case, simply pull it apart. When you’re ready to put it back together, place the two halves back together. To spray your fragrance, simply twist the cap on the vial to the left to unlock the spray mechanism. Me too. They look horrible. The old ones looked so nice, sleek classy, functional. I have about 15 of them, I reuse for new refills. And now I realize that my coming year worth of queue will not fit in the cases I already have. 🙁
I think this means cancellation of my subscription for me, and I LOVE the subscription, it’s the highlight of the month when my new scents are coming. But I just can’t get over the new cases and refills.
Is there any chance of still buying some refills for the old cases?

This would be my second time ordering and once I’ve used the new atomizer and case it was just a disappointment. The nozzle keeps getting stuck when pressed and I would need to take the case apart and find out that most of the perfume was sprayed inside. The case needs to be redesigned for sure. I already miss the old design.

The new bottles leak and spit and the new cases are horrible. Taking money from customers right up to the change for cases you knew would be garbage. Underhanded and bad business. I canceled.

Lame! Waste of perfume. The new cases are so inconvenient. Now I’m just wasting money. I’m frustrated that the new cases don’t work, the old ones were fun and perfect to use. I can’t even get the perfume going. Just leaks in the case and doesn’t even spray. So disappointed and will be unsubscribing.

Exactly. None of my new cases work. Replacing them with “new” of the same is not going to fix the design flaw. • The bottle’s design is weak as well, so many times, the spritz plunger breaks before the bottle is finished. So I have to throw out perfectly good perfume. • I have been with you all fir awhile — have two accounts even — have two multiple bottle subscriptions coming to my house, plus every month plus whatever I buy extra. I’m seriously considering canceling because it’s a waste of money. The bottles are too flimsy. I hate the cases, as they always open in my purse, and don’t allow for easy spritzing. If the nozzle doesn’t break, the bottle shatters when dropped because the case doesn’t work. Plus, I have this beautiful collection of old atomizers that are worthless. And I *always* got my atomizers from your site, never a third party, so that is also a wasted investment. • I know profit is always the goal, so you and your investors are likely thrilled with the savings by moving to these cheaper bottles and cases. But we customers were paying for the luxury experience of these nice cases that came with the perfumes. Now that is gone. Besides being ugly and poorly made, they are clunky in the hand, with sharp edges. They don’t even feel good. I would have rather paid $2 to $3 more a month to appease your need for increased profits than pay the same amount for an inferior product. • Last, your customer service is awful. They have yet to return email contact me in regards to a broken travel size perfume I received with my full-sized gift set. And I have written twice, and provided pictures. If you can’t replace, fine, but don’t ignore me. I think I paid $80 (possibly more) for the gift set.

Be honest. Is the company trying to save money and the new cases are cheaper? They are so disappointing! I really loved the old atomizer case and perfume vials. It was so easy to interchange the vials and I found twisting up the case to spritz very satisfying. You changed both! Why? The new cases and vials are so difficult to use and the cases feel cheap and clunky. I have never seen a spritzer on any perfume bottle that works like the one you created…ever! It’s weird and counterintuitive. Please bring back the old vials and cases…I really miss them!

Sorry not sorry the cases suck, they rattle around in your pocket and not a fan f the sprayer top being exposed in my pocket. The old cases were much better. Won’t be ordering again unless they bring old cases back and will not recommend.
I’m with you 100%. Not since New Coke has an “improvement been so bad. Nobody asked for this! With these cases, the juice dispenses very unevenly, more like spitting out. The actual case is awkward, hideous and very cheap looking. I haven’t cancelled my subscription YET, but if this continues to be the product we receive, then “Bye gurl”. I understand that by forcing a patented case on us, then it eliminates cheaper internet dupes, but tbh, this is garbage. I may try to decant into another atomizer, but realistically, I’ll probably just start buying decants and drop this subscription entirely.

I came here to see if anyone else hated these new cases and sprayers and see pretty much everybody thinks they are a disaster. But the biggest mistake would be not going back to old style sprayers or a better new design.
I am so glad I’m not the only one who absolutely hates the new design. One of them broke and wouldn’t spray as soon as I got it into the package. This really just seems like a cash grab to force you to add the case subscription. And if you only have one case, how am I supposed to store these rounded vials. The old design was a much better function all around and I never had an issue with it. This is what makes long time customers want to shop elsewhere.

I understand that you are trying to grow, but I don’t understand how this case was able to be approved by anyone.
Literally one look at it and you can tell that it looks so much worse than the old one. The moment I picked it up and tried it I threw it out.

These cases are the worst. My friend had a perfume that leaked, and it deteriorated the case. There is nothing classy, cool, or “modern” about them. They should have stuck with the old ones. I would be surprised if any one has ever though these were good cases.

I agree, it is so hard to actually get the spray to spray properly. When I do spray, it gets all over the place. The case keeps opening up randomly. And it’s also harder to refill the atomizer. I do wish they would use the technology of the older cases with the colors and gold combination of the new ones since I like that single part.
So how do I actually pull it apart? Mine still won’t pull apart after all this time and gets stuck but I thought that was normal until I read the comments

Did you even test the new atomizer cases? Just received my first order with the new atomizer and they are so poorly engineered that it is unusable. The spring mechanism doesn’t work resulting in needing to pull the top up after every press. Also the L shaped grove is designed in such a way that the majority of the spray just hits the case.

I’m sad about the new case. Looks like a tacky dollar store knockoff. I loved the sleek look and smooth function of the old case.
Some feedback : Please do not keep these new cases. They do not spray well (a jet stream versus a mist), are much bulkier than the old ones, and frequently come apart when stored in bags / purses. Just some (disappointed) user feedback.

I canceled my subscription over the new cases. They don’t spray so much as leak; I wasted so much product because almost all of it dripped down the case onto my fingers and floor. These look awful, and don’t function well. The old case were much nicer looking too.
If scentbird were to change back to the old cases myself and many others would probably come back. This is a shame because I really loved scentbird, but I will not pay for these crappy atomizers.
I just received my new case and atomizer and I hate them. The case is fine, but it feels like it would come apart in my bag. The new atomizer has cheap plastic for the cap and all 3 of my caps get stuck every time I spray. I have to manually lift them to spray again. It’s a step down in quality and it feels cheap.
My honest speculation is that Scentbird was tired of losing sales to 3rd party cases on Amazon, so they changed their case design. In doing so, their atomizers became cheaper to offset the price of the new cases.

It feels like they’ll come apart in your bag because that’s exactly what they’ll do. The two halves barely stay together in your hand, let alone pocket. They look and feel cheap. I’m sure no one asked for a longer dispenser that takes up more room in your bag.
I haven’t canceled my sub, but that was because customer service made me feel like I was the only person who didn’t like the new design. Now, seeing as how this design change was forced on us (SB should’ve done some research with the people actually providing their revenue stream BEFORE just flippantly changing to new design, new materials, and s-tier “gold” paint- if SB was going for the Fingerhut experience, they nailed it) I think I’ll be canceling. The shift to most of the scents being “premium” now accompanied with the terrible new dispensers is enough to make this girl say BYE.

Hate the new cases! Bring back the old ones! Or at least give us the option to choose. Received my scents for the month with these new trash cases and the perfume doesn’t even spray good! Mind you I get 3 scents a month! All were trash sprays!!!! It’s more of a splatter mess that comes out 😑 extremely unsatisfied!! I don’t understand; I thought it was a mistake and had to look up if this atomizer was real. Granted, I’m no atomizerologist, but this thing is an abomination. It’s bigger, clunkier, and feels cheaper. When it is lined up correctly, it does deliver a better spray, but it’s hardly reliable. Between that and not being able to order the same scent within a 6 month time period, it’s probably time to move on.

The new atomizer cases are a terrible design. The nozzle doesn’t stay in place when trying to spray. The vial is rounded and does not stand on its own, which causes storage issues when not in an atomizer. I prefered the previous atomizer and vial. It was sleek and simple use. I have have enjoyed the fragrances from Scentbird, but between delays in shipping and the new atomizer design I may switch to another subscription company.

Please be advised that I have sent an email to remove the remainder of my queue from my account and cancel my subscription effective immediately in time for my next month’s charge.
I was disappointed to find out last month with my delivery that there were design changes to the bottles and cases. This change was not made under consideration for the customer at all but to the advantage of the company only, likely as a way to save on production and shipping costs. I have read many reviews of numerous dissatisfied customers about the same. The new design renders all previous cases void and basically garbage. Customers have not even been left to an option to continue with original option A or the new option B.
I personally detest the design and have not one good comment to make about them. It greatly took away the attraction of Scentbird and its product line. From the rehearsed and repetitive formed response to complaints on social media and here, the designers stand by their decisions and think these changes are a good thing. I hope they are right. If all these dissatisfied customers choose to cancel their subscription…I wish you all the luck.
** The atomizers are cheap looking plastic gold that don’t spray nearly as well.
** The rounded vial bottoms mean they can’t be stored to stand up unless in their unidentifiable cardboard
packaging
** The new cases are cheap looking particularly in the free grey one that was demoed
** The new vial design renders all previously purchased metal tubes garbage serving no other purpose that what
they were intended for.
** The new cases fall apart as the magnetic connection is not strong enough to keep them together
** The gold plastic top sticks out above the case making it longer and more prone to damage or leakage in a bag
or purse. Unlike the other one that would lower down securely into the case, making it less conspicuous and
prone to damage.
In some instances, packaging is everything…and I believe in this “case” it is. It is what made you so popular…not just about the “cents”! Trying to save a buck may have cost you one.

I also do not like these new cases. I bought one of those “special” deals with 4 scents and cases just last month. Now I have 4 extra and now useless cases. Could have at least given us a heads up instead of trying to clear your inventory first. Might have to switch to another service.

I am deeply disappointed in the new design of the case. It is ugly, absolutely ugly. I work in the cosmetic industry and this is not what customers would call elegant or glam. I am canceling my subscription asap. This is an epic fail. I am not happy about this at all and will not ever recommend you to any of my clients.

The new case is so terrible and the new bottle is made like a test tube with a rounded end so forget using it without the cheap looking and poorly functioning new case. Did you even produce test this new design or get feedback from any current customer because it seems like no one is happy with the change.

I personally detest the design and have not one good comment to make about them. It greatly took away the attraction of Scentbird and its product line. From the rehearsed and repetitive formed response to complaints on social media, the designers stand by their decisions and think these changes are a good thing. I hope they are right. If all those dissatisfied customers choose to cancel their subscription, I wish you all the luck.
The atomizers are cheap looking plastic gold that don’t spray nearly as well.
The rounded vial bottoms mean they can’t be stored to stand up unless in their unidentifiable cardboard packaging
The new cases are cheap looking particularly in the free grey one that was demoed
The new vial design renders all previously purchased metal tubes garbage serving no other purpose that what they were intended for.
The new cases fall apart as the magnetic connection is not strong enough
The gold plastic top sticks out above the case making it longer and more prone to damage or leakage in a bag or purse. Unlike the other one that would lower down securely into the case, making it less conspicuous and prone to damage.
In some instances, packaging is everything…and I believe in this “case” it is. It is what made you so popular…not just about the “cents”! Trying to save a buck may have cost you one.

I am canceling my Scentbird account. I’ve had it since the begining, but these new cases are garbage. I hate them. I dont want them. Its not worth it to me. I’m so sad this was changed to something so cheap and tacky looking. Smh

I’ll be canceling my subscription if this is the way forward. Y’all clearly chose this for a cheaper option and it shows. The new spray is AWFUL and is wasted on my hands and the case.

The new atomizer feels, looks, and works horribly. I would be embarrassed to take this out in public since it is made of gaudy gold-painted plastic and makes a plastic rattling sound like a children’s toy. Plus it doesn’t even properly spray.
There is no way you thought this was a better product for the consumer, and are very clearly trying to cut corners on cost.
Perfume is a luxury good and it doesn’t make sense to put it in something so crappy. Unless they switch back, I’m canceling my subscription.

I am relieved to see that I am not the only person that is struggling to use this case. It looks like I just started my subscription when the new cases rolled in, and I’m honestly having the worst time trying to figure it out.
I found a way to jailbreak the Scentbird vial and replace the sprayer, but I don’t envision I am going to go through this rigamarole every month.

Please bring back the old cases. The new one looks and feels so cheap, it’s hard to use, and it comes apart easily. Plus gray and gold as a default color combination looks bad and I think you’re doing that only to get me to buy more crummy cases. It doesn’t matter to us if your product is proprietary or not, it matters if it works well, and this one doesn’t. This business has come far in 8 years because of the quality of your service. Don’t get greedy now.

Worst fragrance packaging I’ve ever experienced. The new case is hideously cheap looking and feeling and doesn’t remotely work. It gets caught on its own locking mechanism and will not give a full spritz if it even sprays at all. When it does spray there’s a good chance it’s in the wrong direction and hits the case rather than where I’m aiming. With the magnet closures along the long side I’m not even going to try putting it in my purse because of how easy it would be to pop open and I don’t want magnets near my phone or credit cards. Clearly a result of the company cutting corners because I refuse to believe any amount of testing went into something so completely and fundamentally defective. It has one job, to spray, and it doesn’t do that. It might be forgivable if at least it still felt like a luxury product but it’s clearly dollar store junk.

Sorry to say that this new case is the reason I’ve requested a cancellation and account deletion! The spring these truly unattractive new cases on us is one thing but that we have to pitch all our metal cases? That certainly makes more money for you but costs the rest of us! Let’s be real, these new cases and vials are costly SB less but if it costs you customers then what’s your point? Fire whomever came up with this strategy!

The new cases are absolutely terrible! Cheap, difficult trading out fragrances, and they come apart easily, except when you want them to! So disappointed when I received this month’s subscription. I got the subscription for the wonderful size of the fragrances and the versatility of switching up scents and the lovely metal atomizers. But now, I don’t think I’ll bother continuing my subscription as these new scents can’t be used with the old atomizers, and I refuse to mess with the new clunky ones. Definitely NOT “new and improved”!

I just received my new perfume and it came in the new atomizer case. I absolutely HATE the new atomizer cases. Seriously, who thought of this and thought it was a good idea?? Did they of how the customers would feel about it? It doesn’t spray well, it easily falls apart, even when locked. In comparison to the old cases, these new ones are cheap and not worth a case subscription. Plus, the old cases were so much easier to use and didn’t waste perfume. I have loved getting my perfumes from scentbird, but I would rather use the old cases for my perfume and cancel my subscription since the new perfume cases and nozzles are cheap and do not work effectively.

New design is terrible. The break apart case is inconvenient and seems seem cheap compared to the previous cases. A bunch of colored plastics. The atomizer doesn’t mist, it squirts. Just poorly designed. Additionally, the previous design allowed the perfumes to be functional and sleek without the case. With the new design, the naked vial just looks silly. Maybe that was the intention, force the consumer to buy more cases, while simultaneously cheapening the product. It seems like a small thing but functionality and aesthetics are important, and enough to make or break future patronage.

The new cases are a nightmare. Why would they do that to us. We spend a pretty penny on the items we purchase only to be robbed by a new failed design. Looks like it’s time to cancel my subscription since I’m given no choice on my case select. This idea was ridiculous and a ruse to get over on the customers…

If this new case is what your team came up with “for the overall look, tone & feel of the brand to reflect that exciting revolution,” then your vision of what the brand should be is clunky and unattractive. Not to mention barely functional. I get that you were annoyed at losing sales of your cases to other sellers, but you have alienated a large segment of your market. I have seen no positive comments on any forums about this change, and as someone who just received my October order today, I am among the many, many customers considering cancelling my subscription over this.
Just admit that you messed this one up and go back to the old cases.

I received my new case and I agree with everyone else. It feels cheap and the spray is inferior to the old atomizer. I also am really irritated that I bought a bunch of the old style cases that are now useless. I feel like you truly do t care about our opinions and you made making a proprietary case your priority. The old cases were sleek and classy, this new one belongs in the kids section.

I see I’m not alone in being confused and frustrated with the new cases. I too stocked up on many of the old style and love them! Now they are useless! I did see in another review you have a trade-in program? For what it’s worth I would rather pay a little more money and have a higher quality case. I purchased 20 of your old cases, some for me and some as gifts for other friends who have a subscription. Please advise me on the best and easiest way to trade these in.

I’m not sure why the cases were changed, they worked just fine before. Now it’s incredibly hard to get any product out of the case. I’m not too keen on spending my hard earned money on something that barley works. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Just got one of these new cases – gosh what an impressive downgrade! The old system was so easy to use and these are just a noisy, clunky mess. The perfume samples aren’t worth much if I can’t easily get them sprayed out to use, so I’m thinking this will be the end of my scentbird subscription sadly.
This new case is terrible if you want to improve the design change the look of the old cases. Or at least give us the option or even make the bottle compatible with the old cases. If this is not changed I will unsubscribe and change to one of the many other similar services. This was a bad design and a huge step back.

I acknowledge and understand that you wanted to evolve and grow as a company but I feel this change was not for the better. I agree with all of the above comments. There is nothing I like about the ‘improvements” to the vial, the cases and even the little bag the shipment comes in.
• The new atomizer has cheap plastic for the cap. It’s a step down in quality and it feels cheap
• the case, vial and bags are all cheap looking compared to the original design.
• sorry that someone worked so hard on this design as it is terrible. It feels cheap, looks cheap and in my opinion does not work any better than the original case.
It is a shame as I was enjoying this service but now feel due to the changes I will be cancelling my subscription and definable not recommending ScentBird to any of my friends. I just received my first new style case and vial…and it’s so horrible I just cancelled my whole subscription. This thing looks and feels so cheap and tacky, I’ve seen nicer travel atomizers in dollar stores. The functionality is just as bad as the aesthetics; the spray nozzle gets stuck after use and the case pops open far too easily. And making the vials a completely new size and shape so they can’t even be swapped out into the nicer old cases is just the final insult. I’ve been a happy loyal subscriber for many users, but you just lost me with this.

I know many people have said the same thing but I feel like change won’t happen unless everyone says something. I think the new cases are such a bad move that I cannot believe this passed through multiple stages of approval. For starters, the gold on the top looks gaudy and cheap and FEELS gaudy and cheap. The top staying out instead of spinning down feels like a down grade from the original. Next, the plastic feels and looks so cheap and the split down the middle is ugly at best and prone to splitting at worst. Lastly, the spray on the top pieces isn’t centered so I always have to look where gaps are and spray it that direction so I don’t miss. I frankly don’t use the new cases, they’re ugly and don’t feel secure. I hope you guys change your mind and revert back to the old case soon-you could easily add gold trim somewhere to liven it up a bit while still keeping the simplicity and stability of the old cases!

I just restarted my subscription and am very disappointed in the new case. The spray doesn’t work right. It comes apart in my bag. It’s more of a hassle than good. I will be canceling my subscription. The perfume is a great price, but if you can’t even spray it on without streams, leaks, or sticking…it would be okay. I’d love to go back to my original case. It was sleek and smooth with a good mist spray. I see the other comments and do not need a generic pre typed response that you have given others. I just want to state my opinion. Great subscription, crap case.

Scentbird, please do something about these new cases. I love my fragrance subscription, but the cases are an abomination. It’s not good when the fragrance doesn’t spray. The new mechanism is very unreliable. Also it does come apart in my bag. The plastic looks cheap. Also the fragrance bottles can no longer stand on their own. It’s not a good design. It’s not an upgrade. I see it as a downgrade. What a disappointment!

Adding my comment to echo the general sentiment – these cases are awful. The fact that the perfume cap sticks out over the top of the case makes it a hazard in any bag you toss it in, even with the lock function. And of course, the vials of perfume now have round bottoms so they won’t stand up on their own outside of the case. Tossing this poor quality case, and I’ll just stick to the tubes the vials come in. Perhaps the team should have engaged in further product testing and discussed with customers first prior to making this “exciting revolution.” This feels like a downgrade for customer experience.

I honestly don’t mind the new cases, they’re ok. My question is how much fragrance (in milliliters) do these hold?

Bad move Scentbird. We have all purchased and collected the old cases for years and never had a complaint. Now what are we supposed to do with all these old cases? Just thrown them away after we bought them. As stated over and over again above, the new cases are hideous and do not function well at all. Your design team should be fired!

I also utterly hate these new cases. I’m cancelling my subscription until you bring back the old style or give us something similar. they’re bulky, they spray terribly, and they’re ugly as sin. They’re also so much more complex to use for absolutely no payoff. I’m not interested in this, the case was one of the things that drew me to scentbird to begin with and if you go back I’ll come back.

I truly hate the new atomizer design for all the same reasons already listed in these comments. If it were just the case, that would be one thing. I often use the vials without a case. But you’ve even made the vials terrible — less sleek and less functional. And now I can no longer use new vials with the old cases I prefer. I’ve loved this service, but I’ll be looking to switch to a competitor now.

I hate the new case! Did your team even test it out? It’s difficult to spray and not nearly as nice looking as the old case. If you’re going to continue to send fragrances to fit in the new cases instead of the old case, I will cancel my subscription. Simply not worth it.

Well I just joined and purchased a bundle with the old atomizer. I loved it! So I placed an order for 7 more scents. This new atomizer came and I don’t like it at all. In addition, I won’t be purchasing anymore because if it. The old design was much better. Sorry

Oh my goodness, these are terrible!! So many issues!!
Bigger, bulkier, less user friendly, cheap plastic top, rounded bottoms (the old ones I could stand up without the case), the case easily smudges and looks dirty if you have lotion or any oils on your hands, and a hassle to get the case open now.
It’s like you took everything that was right and made it wrong. I’d ask “why” but seeing you use the word “proprietary”, it makes me think you were trying to make it so your vials weren’t compatible to anyone else. I get the reason but I doubt the amount of business you lose over this is worth the few bucks you lose to people buying cases off Amazon.

Awful new cases 🙁 they feel incredibly cheap and are poorly designed and produced. They are significantly larger than the old cases and feel like they will break. I am also upset that I bought a new case with my monthly subscription right before this change, as I was not warned new cases were coming. I am thoroughly disappointed and hope the old cases return quickly, because I am considering cancelling my subscription.

I was really surprised to see the new case. I am not opposed to change, but I do feel taken advantage of when I have at least 12 of the old cases that I no longer can even use. Now I have to continue buying these cases, which feel so much cheaper, if I want my perfume in a case. That is a lot of waste (both money for me, and trash in the landfill), and I am frankly disappointed that we were not notified that this change was coming. I would not have continued my case subscription for the last several months, and would have just rotated out my cases until I ran out of the old style.

I’ve been a subscriber since 2017, I do not like these new cases, they feel very cheap and comes open easily, very disappointing and dissatisfied, contemplating on canceling after all these years. I do not want to pay for the subscription when the new case doesn’t spray good and I feel like I’m wasting more product.

I am not happy about the new case. This is the first time in the years that I have had my 3 scents a month subscription that I have bought if cancelling. I have over 8 cases as well as the scent organizer for my dresser. Such a waste.

Just renewed my subscription and was very disappointed with the new cases!! Very cheap, dont spray well and fall apart in my bag and what am I supposed to do with all my old beautiful, sturdy cases that worked wonderfully?? Guess Ill be canceling again!

I bought many cases in almost every color as I enjoy Scentbird. Now unfortunately, you abruptly changed the cases and size of perfume bottles on us loyal customers with zero notice!! The new bottle design does not work neither with the prior cases I have now. I feel cheated and robbed. I want to be reimbursed for all those cases I already bought. Scentbird is about to loose so many customers if they don’t fix things and do right!

I canceled my subscription after receiving 3 new scents in this new packaging. I don’t like the look, feel or level of functionality. I very much enjoyed my colorful, sturdy cases. I’m disappointed that I bought about a dozen of them to fill with my perfumes and change them out as I use each one up. That’s no longer possible. Also, once I’m done with the scents I have, these cases will be useless. I’ve enjoyed these months with Scentbird but you all have lost a customer.

The new case is so bulk and awkward! The old cases were smaller and more sleek! I’m so sad there isn’t even an option to get the old cases because the new ones are awful 😔

I have to say I just received the new case and absolutely hate it. I was really enjoying getting a new scent each month. The spray mister drips when used and doesn’t work properly. The outside of the case has an almost sticky feel to it. I find this blog because I was looking to see if we had a choice on which style of spray we could try because If not I will be canceling. I’m very sad that you didn’t tray these before you did away with the old ones.

Ya know…. I have loved this subscription for the past year but I have to agree with everyone else…. This new case design is simply horrible. The new vials being rounded is a step back as I can’t organize the collection in a space saving manor, it all has to be laid down. The spray is unpredictable, the case is clunky, the plastic makes it feel cheep, and the case comes apart in my bag…. Definitely a step in the wrong direction. Kudos for trying to innovate and change up the look and feel but sometime you have to admit when all the R&D that went into this “improved” case was a complete waste.

Definitely not a fan of the new case or atomizer. It is larger and clunkier and feels cheaper. I don’t like how easily the two pieces come apart in my bag which ends up making it not lock at all. The old design was much better! And since the new scents are not compatible with the old case I will be cancelling my subscription. Not worth it!

New cases feel cheap and aren’t nearly as portable, new atomizers can be confusing for some and spray mechanism feels cheaply built. On top of that, my order had a damaged vial AND I received a scent that I’ve never even placed in my queue. Here I am, 4 days later, still no response from support. I don’t usually post reviews, but the past month has me worried for the future of this company. I’m sure you appreciate my feedback & you’ll pass it to the team 🙄

I’m glad I’m not the only one disappointed in the new cases. They are truly horrible! I feel awful writing a bad review but the whole case is bad start to finish. The sprayer isn’t smooth like the old ones so it’s more of a thick blobby concentrated squirt vs a fine even most like the old ones. They are not as easy to replace the scents but seem to pop open with no issues in the handbag. Now there’s a chunky plastic cheapy gold chunk sticking out of the top. I’m sorry as I’m sure folks worked hard on these to make them seem “luxe” for a lower cost but it’s a hard miss. If they stay like this I’ll go back to buying direct from manufacturer.

I can’t seem to get the fragrance out to change seems like the top is going to break. Is there a video on how to change it?
Hi Erik, thank you for your question. Your new fragrance case is two separate pieces that are held together magnetically. To remove the vial from the case, simply pull it apart. When you’re ready to put it back together, place the two halves back together. To spray your fragrance, simply twist the cap on the vial to the left to unlock the spray mechanism. To lock it again, twist it back to the right. Email us for any other assistance, we’re here to help 🙂
ECHOING THE HATE FOR THE NEW CASE!!!!😡Here I was giving glowing recommendations to friends and my mother’s caregiver, who all LOVE fragrances. They were so excited from seeing my selection and the cases. And then this TRASH case comes in the mail. I really hope us, subscribers, at least allow for the option of the previous or something better. UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED AT THIS MESS of clunky unattractive plastic case that sprays so much harder than the previous design.

I strongly dislike the new cases. The one I received doesn’t stay together. I’m also disappointed that my old cases will no longer work with my purchases. I’ve stopped my subscription from renewing due to this issue. Please bring back the old cases.

These new cases are total trash and all false marketing. The cases break apart constantly. What’s suppose to be holding them together? Magnets? This new case does not feel secure and sleek like its predecessor. It’s also marketed as being my upscale hit it looks and feels very poorly made. I’m cancelling my subscription and not renewing until I see the old case brought back.

The new cases come across as a cost-cutting measure. It functions, but it’s just less good. You’ve gone from sleek, stealthy, and sexy to loose and plastic-y. You’ve added a full inch of length, the atomizer lock is questionable, and the worst part, it rattles. At the least, the case needs to fit the vial tighter, and have stronger magnets to keep it closed. It would probably be better to just go back to the old case while y’all work out a few more iterations of what your new packaging should be. This was certainly a miss.

The new cases are trash. I haven’t had an issue with the atomizer itself, but the case falls apart if you so much as look at it wrong. It’s to the point I don’t feel like I can actually take my fragrances with me anymore without the risk of them breaking and spilling everywhere. Sure I could tape the case together, but that defeats the entire point of the program. Cancelled everything. Hopefully you do truly listen and change stuff back. Also very upset that I subscribed and got so many of the good cases right before the switch. Cases that are now just as useless as the new ones.

Just got my new case and my biggest complaint is when you spray it, it sticks and doesn’t pop up freely. I understand Scentbird should change and grow but I feel annoyed how the old cases were pushed heavily the last couple of months and I pretty much wasted money buying them. Just when I was happy that I had a cute collection for my bureau … this. What am I supposed to do with all these cases I have purchased in the last year? 🤨

These new cases are garbage, and because of the new vial shape make the previous cases I have worthless. From the comments, this will cost you many customers just because some people buy cases on amazon. How long before the new cases are also found on amazon and are turned obsolete as well?

I thought that the new case and vial design was due to my choice of one of your Saks fragrances not a change across the entire platform. I do not recommend that you keep the new design, for all the reasons that have been stated above. This new design tacky and to be frank, cheap and ugly (not sure why adding ridges would be considered a upgraded or improved design as you put in a reply). Even worse though is that with this completely unnecessary change, if in a bag or purse it frequently gets disturbed and bumped to the point that it has moved over in the ‘new L shape’ and ends up being sprayed unintentionally all over my bags! I have barely used the fragrance with this cheap new version because I have to leave it at home and put up away from any chance of being touched so it doesn’t randomly spray. I understand that it may take a month or so to undo this mistake that was rolled out so I will be canceling my subscription if it is not changed back or to an actual upgraded design by January. No need for a reply with any of the same unhelpful and uninformative responses that have already been given.
I love this company and I LOVED the old cases, the new ones are Terrible! Cheap clunky and it makes me want to cancel my subscription, since I dislike them So much!!!

The new case is horrible. Got 2 orders now and both doesn’t work. You have to press it about 10-20 times and maybe something comes out. And when it does, it doesn’t mist or stream.. It kind of trickles out.

I had so many of the old style of atomizers that I finally bought a multipack of the cases and recently splurged on a couple of the different promotions that had multiple scents and color coordinated cases to match. When I recieved the first of the new cardboard shipping tubes, it still had the old style of atomizer in it. The next month I recieved the new, greige plastic case, the new inferior atomizer and new cotton storage bag. The bag didn’t last for ten minutes in my backpack, winding up with an ink stain and smudges from a receipt tucked next to it. Also when I dropped the case (while trying to twist it correctly so it sprayed on me and not down the inside of the plastic), half of it popped off and skittered across the room. Somehow the glass vial didn’t break, but if the point is to protect it, it wasn’t doing its job at all. I feel very misled in purchasing cases that will no longer fit your perfume vials, and upset that the newest fragrances won’t even work with my existing cases. I don’t want to have to buy a whole new range of cases for these new atomizer when the only one I have pops open and doesn’t do its job to protect the glass.
I’m extremely disappointed, and don’t feel like these new cases reflect your company’s standards. This used to be an affordable way to try pricier scents that I couldn’t afford to make a full bottle commitment to, but now it feels like changing the packaging is just cutting the quality while upping the price and its no longer reasonable to be a subscriber.
There isn’t a single positive review here, or in other groups where the new cases have been a topic of discussion (I’m in two on Facebook). I doubt that you’ll go back to your old designs, but if you don’t improve the new packaging I fear you will be losing many more subscribers. I’ll miss the monthly pick me up, but not the new look.

As everyone else has mentioned, the new case is a major downgrade. It feels dishonest to not be made aware of the change before it happened, I now have 3 old cases that I love but can no longer use. I literally just bought two new ones in my last order and was very confused when I received the new design the following month.
I understand the company wants to “grow” but they should really consider what customers want when doing so. I too am looking for other alternatives because the new vials are not worth it.

I have arthritis and cannot push the perfume out anymore. I’m extremely sad that I’ll have to cancel and I’m kind of shocked if that no one thought of the accessibility when changing the product. I’m also young (under 30) so I’m sure if they have an older audience then this will ring true for them as well. I was going to buy a bundle for my mom as a stocking stuffer and she can’t push it either, and she doesn’t even have arthritis. Glad to see all these other comments dislike it as well, not to mention what a waste on all the case colors… Bad move scentbird, you’re losing a lot of customers by doing this.

Glad to hear you’re taking feedback, not like I believe it though. I e-mailed and got the same canned response your team has given everyone, and was told they can’t issue a refund as per their terms of service despite the fact they changed the product they sent. At least for me, the neglect from your company already sealed it for me. I will not be a returning customer, and after reading the rest of the comments I’m just sad I ever gave such a greedy and ableist company money.
You’re correct, we’re not able to issue refunds for the shipped-out orders. But what we can do is send you replacements for the defective or damaged products ✨. Big old fail. There was no communication that I saw that the cases were about to change and when it arrived, I assumed the new vial was specific to the sample I had for some reason. The “atomizer” looked so cheap, I assumed it was just packaging and threw it away. The old cases were perfectly fine. This just seems like a money grab. It would be one thing if the new cases were much better but they are actually much worse. I am probably going to cancel and I haven’t even tried the new cases since it went in the garbage before I realized what if was. I don’t appreciate the bait and switch. I don’t appreciate how the old cases are now useless. I don’t appreciate feeling like you put profit over quality and customer satisfaction. Fix it or I think a lot of customers are going to cancel.

PLEASE change the atomizer. I couldn’t care less about the look, but the spray nozzle doesn’t work. I completely wastes product it comes out like a puddle.

I just resubscribed a few weeks ago and got my order yesterday with two of the new cases and it’s honestly making me want to unsubscribe again. I loved how the old cases really encased the atomizer securely. These new cases feel so cheap and flimsy and I nearly dropped my brand new fragrance because they’re not even safe in the case. And I have an extra case I can’t used because a have a bunch of old bottles with only one old case. Horrible design. And the spray is so aggressive. You can’t even call this an atomizer.

“you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear” I feel like nobody was really thinking … I am not happy with the new design. Poor quality, it reminds me of old grandma cheap plastic to make look fancy but is cheap. I was so prideful of the old design it looked fancy , it felt fancy, reliable , people always asked me what I had , and I gladly shared your info. I don’t want any more of of this style , it’s a step backwards not a step forwards.

Personally, I’m cancelling my subscription because of these new cases. They’re overly-bulky, don’t spray well, and should never have been produced. If you choose to return to the new cases, I’ll consider the subscription again.

I completely agree! Why coerce me to buy the original case (which was awesome) only to change to a new style that doesn’t work with my old cases. I’m extremely disappointed in the bait and switch but to add insult to injury, the new cases are awful! The magnets aren’t nearly strong enough causing the whole thing to fall apart in my pocket, the spring gets stuck down most times causing me to have to take it apart anyway, it’s quite cheap feeling, and then…it’s just ugly! I’m actually considering canceling my subscription.

This new case is awful. I subscribed to this service before, liked it, and decided to come back after some time. I was left I’m incredibly disappointed in the quality of the vial and case. The vial stopped spraying after about 6-7 sprays and that is extremely frustrating. Imagine coming back to a service and the first shipment you get breaks on its own with very minimal use. On top of that, it leaked some. I want to continue using this service but I don’t know if I will if I have to switch the product to another atomizer because the vial is such bad quality. Did anyone on the scent bird team bother testing these new vials before choosing to go with them?

I never got word that the cases would be changing and was very disappointed to find that it doesn’t work to use my new scents with my old cases. I liked the old cases 100% more.

Will the old cases come back? They seemed to work a lot better.
Hi Drea, thank you for your question. We don’t offer old packaging anymore, since new atomizers allow for a ton of customization & design options, which means more fun & flashy cases for you! You can decorate the interior & exterior differently, which wasn’t possible with the previous ones. Hope you’ll give our rebranded fragrance cases another chance 🙂

Hi Saida, have you ever heard of don’t fix what’s not broken? Because I honestly can’t think of one thing about the original sprayer that it needed to be changed fixed or “rebranded”. Im not sure who does the research and development but they skipped the research part as I don’t remember seeing anyone asking for a new design or a questionnaire on new design changes or even a limited customer trial but went straight for development and utterly failed. I’ve never seen such disappointed remarks from a customer base in my life. Now if the overall look, tone & feel of the brand is to reflect a cheap look with a crap excuse for customization of the inside like im worried about what color of the inside is when people wont see it when I use it. Well then I’m totally backing out especially at the price increase and me not finding more of the scents I’ve been looking to try offered from the service but these random ones. I have many original sprayers and now I’ll have to get new ones from other third parties. I’m sorry but you’ve lost a customer. Seems like trialing new companies here I come. You know I really loved the original mindset behind the brand as I’ve been on the journey for a while but I’ve been noticing things over the time and what it all concludes to is the brand lost the grip…

Since we launched in 2014, we have had the same packaging and while we still love it, we felt a little facelift was in order. Rest assured that they’re still a work-in-progress, and we take all feedback into account in order to improve your experience!
I am sorry, I have to agree. I love receiving my scentbird mail, but if this is the new design I may look for alternatives. I do not like the new case design, not the new bottle. I understand things change but this change may not have been a change for the better.
