The Mayhem Ball Fragrance Edit: 6 Scents as Dramatic as Gaga’s Costumes

Lady Gaga‘s Mayhem Ball tour is performance art, personal reckoning, and haute couture retrospective all in one. Over the course of the evening, Gaga faces a reckoning with the Mistress of Mayhem, her dark alter ego that embodies all those 3am thoughts we’d rather not have.

Through four acts of theatrical warfare, she confronts this darkness, wielding fashion’s most powerful names as weapons. That three-story Mugler-inspired cage dress isn’t just an entrance—it represents the prison her fame became. The McQueen-inspired chess board setting transforms ‘Poker Face’ into an actual battlefield. Each scene chronicles an artist who’s transformed trauma into spectacle, on her own terms.

But while fashion might be Gaga’s first weapon of choice, the story she’s telling—transformation, duality, reclaiming your narrative—translates beautifully into fragrance. Gaga knows it too: her 2012 perfume Fame was literally black liquid that turned clear on skin, a perfect metaphor for transformation.

In honor of the spectacle of it all, here are six scents that capture the Mayhem Ball’s gothic psychodrama—no three-story dress required (though we’d never discourage ambition).

Room 1015 – Cherry Punk

Make an entrance

Lady Gaga Mayhem Ball, Gaga comes on stage in a three-story red dress, the stage is dramatically lit in red

This opens with a burst of maraschino cherry, dripping with liquor, syrup-sweet and intoxicating. The spice follows hot on its heels, saffron and pepper turning up the heat. Then the leather arrives, and it’s all red-velvet cherry with hot, spicy leather.

Confessions of a Rebel – Bitch, Please

Lady in white – the Fame Monster

Jasmine blooms at night, and so does this decadent, confidence-laden fragrance. White florals with a tart blackcurrant note, sinking into seductive sandalwood and an extended skin musk finish.

Heretic – Coeur Noir

Blackest ever black

A burst of pepper, wrapped in rich, resinous labdanum, with a deep Madagascan vanilla undertone. Rich, slightly menacing, velvety smooth. This is darkness you want to disappear into.

Confessions of a Rebel Private Blend – Rebel Rose

Skulls and roses

She’s a rose of the shadows, this one. The softest petals, the darkest heart. Honeyed yuzu adds a rich citrus note, while smoked peony and black sesame firmly ground this addictive gothic bouquet.

Heretic – Nosferatu

Delicate florals with a hint of decay

Inspired by the undead, this beautifully unsettling fragrance refuses to give us easy answers. Wilting lilacs and a centuries-old rain-soaked coffin, sinking into a brooding vegan ambergris.

Mind Games – Grand Master Rose Absolute Coffee

The chessboard moment – Poker Face

Can you resist this challenge? An intellectual powerhouse, this one is always three steps ahead. A bold opening of blackcurrant and rich coffee, then swirling incense and myrrh deepen into dark wood. Completely captivating. Checkmate.

The Mayhem Ball‘s real lesson? There’s beauty in confronting our demons. Glamour in owning our whole messy selves, from the light to the dark. These six fragrances capture every shade of gothic glamour—from the seductive challenge of Grand Master Rose to the unapologetic confidence of Bitch, Please. Ready to own your dark side and add some theatrical flair to your fragrance rotation? The stage is set, and your signature scent is waiting in the wings.
