Digital Fragrance Awards Viral Fragrance Launch: Milk Orchid by Commodity

It’s been a big year for viral fragrance launches, but as always, only one can take the award. And thanks to everyone who voted in this year’s Digital Fragrance Awards, it’s Milk Orchid by Commodity

Not only is this the gorgeously creamy, light-and-floaty perfume that ‘broke the internet’, it’s also the culmination of a very specific obsession. Co-created with Emma of @Perfumerism, Milk Orchid is the result of her search for the perfect milk fragrance.

It all began in 2022 when Emma fell in love with Commodity‘s Milk Expressive (or to be accurate, her roommate’s Commodity Milk Expressive). She made a video about it, which went viral. Then came a procession of different milky fragrances, which sparked the hit Milk Perfume Series on her channel. The internet was obsessed, and Emma had become the go-to voice for all things lactonic. But she still hadn’t found the perfect milky fragrance. She wanted to do something milky “in an unexpected way.” A non-milk milk, if you like. Nothing thick or cloying, something lighter and airier. So she took this idea back to the brand that started it all, and Commodity Milk Orchid was born.

With perfumer Christelle Laprade (the nose behind Commodity’s original Milk), Emma landed on notes like Fig Milk and Coconut Cream to deliver that soft, enveloping warmth without weighing the fragrance down, while sweet Vanilla Orchid and Magnolia kept things bright and airy. Milky, yes. Heavy, never. As someone online said, it’s like “jumping into a cloud of fluffy milk cotton.”

Thank you to everyone who voted, and congratulations to Commodity and Emma for winning Viral Fragrance Launch of the year 2026.
