Unsurprisingly for a brand that perfectly embodies romantic minimalism, LIIS has the most ethereal origin story. Founders Alissa and Leslie grew up near each other in Northern California, and although they never met, they were already connected by a secret passion for perfume bottles and a fascination with their transformative powers.

Alissa went on to study perfumery at the famed ISIPCA in Versailles, while Leslie became a talented designer, artist, and self-taught perfumer. And of course, their paths did eventually cross, and Liis was born (cue the magic).

It opens with fresh cream and citrus peel, dries down to salted caramel and silky vanilla before settling into a rich base of mocha, cocoa, and sandalwood.

And then there’s Floating, the feeling of pure liberation, bottled. Think of those rare days without plans or obligations, and you’ll understand this scent perfectly.
