A great classic fragrance that is on the heavier side. It tends to last on me, and I don't need to reapply it thru the day. Its starts as a strong floral, and dries down to a muskier, softer, floral scent. Grandma knew a thing or two about fragrance, it seems.

This started out rather heavily floral, which is not my favorite, but it developed into something much more wearable for me (I prefer warm, earthy, musky sorts of scents). It's not a sweet, overwhelming floral, even at the beginning, and I did still like it quite a bit. Needs to be reapplied midday.

This scent is good, but is too strong for me personally. If you are a fan of heavier, vintage scents, you will probably love this one.

Not good at all for me

I bought this hoping it would be unusual and exotic but it's the ultimate "old lady" fragrance.

"For an enduring classic, it is not that special. That said, it smells exactly as I imagine a classic perfume to smell (plus aldehydes). It is probably popular due to its ability to appeal to a wide range of people, not because it has many unique properties."

"I agree with the other reviewer that this is a classic scent; first formulated in 1927. This fragrance is a "dirty" floral. It is not sweet. It does not smell like cotton candy, maraschino cherries or caramel popcorn. It dries down slightly differently from one individual to the next. The bottom line, every one , including people younger than seventy, should be familiar with the "classics." This website allows you to experiment and discover fragrances at minimal cost. So, my advice, TRY IT. It's a classic because it's a quality fragrance. Even if it does not become your signature scent YOUR quality may quotient may benefit from the experiment."

This is a classic scent. Reminds me of white diamonds. Not for young people.
