Lanc??me Paris is a French cosmetics company launched by Armand Petitjean, a former Coty employee, in 1935. The company's name was inspired by the ruins of a castle, Le Ch??teau de Lancosme, and the brand's rose symbol was inspired by the roses that surround it. The first fragrances from Lanc??me in 1935 are womens' scents Tendre Nuit, Bocages, Conquete, Kypre and Tropiques. Lanc??me joined the L'Oreal family in 1964, after which many of their classic and best-loved fragrances were produced, including Climat, Magie Noire and Tresor.
