This month we&#8217;re going back in time to meet <strong>Liberty LBTY 1875<\/strong>\u2014a bold tuberose perfume inspired by late nights, wood-panelled rooms, and 150 years of good taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Liberty LBTY 1875\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Liberty LBTY 1875 perfume<\/strong> was created with perfumer <strong>Clement Gavarry<\/strong> to mark the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallpaper.com\/design-interiors\/liberty-150-anniversary-a-history-in-10-objects\">150th anniversary<\/a> of Liberty\u2019s founding. It was inspired by wood panelled rooms, \u2018infused with a century and a half of subtle laughter and rich tobacco smoke, dressed up for the evening with abundant Indian tuberose flowers\u2019. It\u2019s full of elegance, a glorious floral exuberance and a rich sense of time and place.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly, this perfume made me think of one person in particular: a teacher from my middle school. Ms Gilbert was tall and willowy, with short dyed black hair. Billowing, pillowy soft tuberose is the defining note here, though that undersells how well blended it is\u2014there&#8217;s more complexity than a single-note impression suggests (and that smoky tobacco in the base certainly helps give it a grounded, after-dark character).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scentbird.com\/blog\/a-note-to-know-tuberose\/\">written about before<\/a>, tuberose was considered pretty scandalous in Victorian England.
