We chatted with Ashley to learn more about the launch of this exciting fragrance collection and Ashley\u2019s personal fragrance philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hi Ashley: Can you tell us a bit about yourself<\/strong>?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in Orange County and went into acting around age 9.  I always dreamed of traveling and living in New York.  Finally, in my 20s I moved to New York and got to travel the world.  I\u2019ve taken a lot of inspiration from the places that I\u2019ve been and the places I\u2019ve lived.  I\u2019ve now gotten to put my experiences and memories into ASH by Ashley Benson and I\u2019m excited to share this line with everyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would you describe your personal<\/strong> fragrance philosophy<\/strong>?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve always loved to create new scents through layering.  I\u2019d find myself mixing different lotions, oils, and fragrances that I would layer on, and I would create my own scents that way.  For years my friends, coworkers–anyone really–would always ask what I was wearing but I\u2019d never tell them because it is very special to me to wear a scent that I created that no one else had.  The Eight and East 12th<\/sup> can be worn on their own, but I also made them to be layered together to create something deep and unique.  <\/p>\n\n\n

 Why did you name the fragrances after these two locations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I named the fragrances after New York (East 12th<\/sup>) and Paris (The Eight) because they are very special places to me.  I always wanted to live in New York, and it was a big step for me to move there. I fell in love with every place in New York, but especially with East Village because it reminded me of the east side of LA in some ways.  I felt very creative and fulfilled there and in New York in general. Since moving there I\u2019ve grown up a lot, learned a lot about myself, and become more confident.  It was a really big change in my life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For The Eight, Paris has just always been one of my favorite places to go.  I had a lot of firsts in my career in Paris, so it is very special to me.  Hotel Costes is one of my favorite places in Paris and it inspired this scent a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n

You briefly mentioned Hotel Costes. How are the colors of the bottles and the hotel connected? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The colors for The Eight were inspired by Hotel Costes. The deep red screams Paris.  It\u2019s romantic, sexy, and fun.  It really reminds me of the streets of Paris as well. For East 12th<\/sup>, to me, black fully represents New York.  When I think of New York, I think of black.  And it\u2019s my favorite color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite nostalgic moment or story that inspired your love for fragrance?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It started with my grandmother.  She wore very distinct scents and I always looked up to her.  She was classy and elegant, she always had on red lipstick, her hair was always done, and very put together.  She was always dressed even if it was just to go to the grocery store.  I always knew she was in a room because I could smell her perfume.  It was so nostalgic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did you want to start a fragrance collection? <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I had an experience in Morocco where I got to make my own fragrance.  I got to be in front of all these different notes and a fragrance merchant walked me through how to layer different scents. Not long after that, I got this opportunity to create ASH.  I loved and was inspired by my experience in Morocco, and I\u2019ve always been a fan of fragrance, so I jumped on the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n

Who did you create these fragrances for? What type of person?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Everyone. My whole thing is that everyone makes memories and has great experiences while wearing ASH by Ashley Benson. I want people to feel confident, sexy, and feel a sense of freedom while wearing the scents.  When I wake up in New York or Paris I don\u2019t know where my day will take me when I\u2019ll come home, or who I\u2019ll see, the possibilities are endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
