May 2nd of this year marked the 25th anniversary of The Fifth Element<\/em>, and suddenly we\u2019ve all realized that the fever that started a quarter of a century ago, still has us in its grip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ways in which we can pay homage to Leeloo and the gang, her atomic, 23rd-century futuristic orange bob, the iconic \u201cMultipass\u201d, and the unassuming cab driver Korben Dallas for all the fun, the amazing costumes, and the music score are very limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019ll do what we do best, which is imagine what fragrances our favorite Jean-Paul Gaultier clad-aliens and humans were wearing while fighting the intergalactic battle to save Earth from its impending doom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lalalaleeloosa a.k.a. Leeloo: Aromatics Elixir Clinique<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Leeloo comes from the future, so wearing a scent that oozes retro vibes is weird, we get it, but hear us out. She\u2019s the supreme being, she\u2019s the Fifth Element that unites the Divine Light. She\u2019s strong, but underneath it all, she still yearns for love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aromatics Elixir is a little ball of yellow energy that unfurls on your skin and waits for you to understand its perfection. It goes through so many transformations as the fragrance dries down, to finally settle down in the shadows of the oakmoss. In the beginning, it bursts with so many different notes that it overwhelms you. You cannot make up your mind: The herbaceous top notes open with verbena, sage, and chamomile, an incredibly fresh green injection of nature. Leeloo is the fresh breath of air Korben Dallas didn\u2019t know he needed in his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening gives way to a sweet floral heart of geranium, rose, and white flowers: ylang-ylang, jasmine, and tuberose. This part is the captivating part of her appearance and the overzealous way Mila Jovovich played her part. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is the woody base of oakmoss and patchouli notes that smells like a winding forest path illuminated by a tired fall sun: the messenger of days filled with the search for warmth and comfort. We\u2019ll leave it up to you to decide why the drydown is the best part of Leeloo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Korben Dallas: Fat Electrician Etat Libre d’Orange<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We can smell your thoughts all the way from here, and no, we didn\u2019t choose this one because of its name. Special forces major-turned-cabdriver Korben Dallas is anything but a fat electrician, and this scent is all about the most masculine notes of them all, the earthy vetiver, entangled with metallic nuances, courtesy of the olive leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the balance of masculinity and futuristic, sharp edges. The notes in Fat Electrician are expertly balanced, and there\u2019s a definite urban feel here. Hints of leather and earth are center stage, with a voluptuous sweetness behind everything that makes this vetiver-based scent less traditional and much more daring and sexy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg: Legend Montblanc<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Due to his all-black ensemble, you were probably imagining him wearing something with noir in the name, rich amber, and oud partnership that showcases the darkness of his soul. But no. Zorg wears this fruity sweet combo with such lightness, it\u2019s almost comical. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pineapple mixes with lavender for a fun yet moody inception, but when red apple and dried fruits ask tonka bean to join the group dance act, the true face of Zorg shows up at the party. He wanted to take over the Universe, and he couldn\u2019t do that while wearing a bold fragrance that would\u2019ve shown even an ounce of warmth and mellowness. No, he needs something that\u2019s legendary and light, so he went with the fragrance that has it all on its label. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruby Rhod: Fracas Robert Piguet<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes, he wears Fracas, and not Fracas for Men. We don\u2019t believe in labels here, and he\u2019s free to wear whatever he wants. He wears Fracas because it\u2019s the only perfume imbued with a sultriness that matches his. The peach in this scent catcalls your senses in the same way Ruby does. It\u2019s inappropriate and you don\u2019t want to turn around and give its time of the day, but you do. The moment you do that, it\u2019s over. Tuberose joins and you can\u2019t resist. You feel taking over your sanity and it plants sweet nothings all over your skin. You\u2019re won over. It\u2019s loud, it\u2019s energetic, and it\u2019s a lot like attention. You crave it, whether you admit it or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
